Hello! Let me share my case as well.
2 days ago my son said the maid hit him (but mildly). The maid denied, but I thought she really had no real intention to hit my son indeed. However I still give her a warning letter (just for documentation and reminder). She signed, but next day requested cancelling it. She said the letter made her feel unsafe and uneasy. I explain it was just a reminder, and no intention to fire her. We compromised to amend the letter. I prepared another reminder letter to her, and asked her to sign the acknowledgement (record that she had received it). She considered the content was acceptable, but she refused to sign acknowledgment. Finally she resigned immediately. I was shock, as it was really out of my expectation.
Her contract will be ended in 5/2009, and I know that she plans to go to Canada for work all along. Therefore I think she should go.
However now I have to seek another maid in urgent, and I fear that the new maid might not good. I also encounterdifficult time (work + childcare + household chores).
So frustrated !

我很明白你的感受。作為working mum，當家中工人有甚麼"e郁"時真的會很煩和無奈。

當今年一月第一個工人放假沒有回來時(沒有通知個隻)，我真的不知如何是好。我還有幾天便要上班，家中又沒有人可以幫手...

最後我捱了一個月便決定辭職，待新工人到後才找工作做。到現在第三個工人剛到了2個星期，希望她可以儘快上手，之後我便可以再上班。

希望你可以揾到一個好工人(雖然我對她們已沒有甚麼信心，但我都要揾食)。加油!

Totally understand you. My new maid just contacted me through agent that she has decided to go back to Phillipines and not to come back to work for me. Although i have only signed all the documents, i am very frustrated already. They just don't keep promise...
