I really can't imagine in what situation that the maid can cut your baby's eye-lashes by accident. Totally impossible. Obviously it's just an excuse and she even didn't request you to believe it but just to give an excuse as a response to you at that moment.
I fully understand that the burden will encounter when w/o a maid suddenly. So usually I just advise friends to find a new maid before firing. But for your case, I really think you should fire her immediately, otherwise your baby will be in danger. I just think your maid is crazy!!!
