i was also like you at the first time hiring a maid gar... now, I learnt to be strict on things that I concern most and loose on things that I concern less la.... afterall, they take care our babies... so, they need to be happy to work in our home, too... but work is work... they need to follow the rules we set lor!
don't be afraid when you talk to them.. just keep clam and cool (dont' smile!)!
I also argue with my husband a lot at the first 2 years (for my first maid).....but eventually, my husband also observe the bad things by himself lar...... I found it's no use to talk to husband or complain to the husband.. coz' they don't like to be 'fan'................ but you have to talk to your husband that you want the maid to report and make request to you but not directly to him as you want the "instruction" to be consistent.. it's hard for the maid to follow different orders / instructions, too !
Talk / point out to the maid immediately whenever you see something she's done wrong~ Don't wait ar! Also... don't really need to ask them any reasons... they will make up things.... just tell them straight don't do this / that!
I agree with you
just say NO if she did bad things
and praise her when she did a good job
hahah. it's mean to say that just joking: like the way I treat my dog
