I just came back from Japan and gone to Thomasland as well, my son 4 years old enjoyed Thomasland very very much, it's suitable for age 2 and up.... there's a lot of Thomas products to buy and t-shirt as well, I bought a lot. The most important was: no need to line up for a long time, only few people around inside Thomasland, my son can finished every games and even played many times again. We having lunch inside Thomasland's canteen. I send whole morning inside Thomasland, that's enough..
So, I think your child will love Thomasland very much, it is good to go with children. I have a very good time with my son.

Don't worry, I joined tour as well, Thomasland, actually is part of the FIJI Highland Park, it's only for children 2 and up, the games are not for adults, so very few people there, I am very sure you son can finished all the games in the morning or in the afternoon,(Half day can finished all games actually).
My family stayed in the whole morning (9:00 - 12:15pm) inside Thomasland, even can having lunch and shopping there, my son enjoyed Thomasland very much and played all the games even twice.
So, don't worry so much of timing, when you arrive Fuji Highland Park, just walk to Thomasland, (Get the Map in the entrance), you will find that your son will be very exciting.
oh, just want to let you know, I did not go anywhere to play other games, only stay in Thomasland with my family.
