when u make an online purchase by Credit Card is actually the same as u make the purchase in HK at the retailer store, which is you pay the exact amount and the bank charge is bear by the retailer. However, when you receive a credit card statment from the bank, you will see the amount they charge you in foreign currency and also the amount converted into HK$, most of the time is a bit higher. Let say, if you purhcase somthing online and the cost is US$50, then they will only charge you US$50 and you will see it is = to around HK$400. And of course you need to pay the bank in HK$ since your credit card is issue in HK, so the bank will convert all the foreign currencies into HK$$ and bill you.
