The salesrep of "montessori" told that they can go to my home for further introduction. The price is more than $1XXXX. It's cheaper than "DWE". But no one knows if it works.

I found the web site. Now, i know what you are talking about. But, i find the different information. It is not a teaching materials. It is a Montessori Playgroup.
i think that, if i spend a lot of money to buy this "montessori teaching materials". ... I may choose to take the "montessori playgroup " with my baby.

I've got chance to meet with the Montessori reps yesterday. Let me share with you what I found out and see if they’ll be useful to you~
1. What is Montessori?
Montessori is a learning system developed by an Italian. Nowadays, Montessori learning system is used around the world and people from different countries make their own Montessori teaching materials (教材) with reference to the teaching system. The Montessori materials sold in Hong Kong is the Korean one because the reps think that the Korean set is of the best quality and price (They have no confidence in the Chinese set at all ). Besides teaching materials, Montessori is used in kindergartens too, so you can find Montessori playgroups and kindergartens all around the world.
2. How to contact the Montessori reps?
I did it through BK, but I don't think there is any advantages…
3. Price of Montessori
Similar to DWE: Expensive! All prices are just approximations, I don’t quite remember the exact figures

5. My opinion
Personally, I am more interested in Montessori (than DWE) as I think it is better in the following ways:
a. More comprehensive and developed learning system rather than just English learning. Montessori facilitates brain & muscle development better. They also have other systems for older kids to develop their logical thinking, maths…
b. More recognized. There are many schools using Montessori teaching methods. Even used in playgroups and kindergartens.
c.More emphasis on parent interaction: Parents really have to use the material to play with babies. For DWE, more regular activities (like viewing DVD…) is emphasized (less parent interaction is allowed)
d. More room for nurturing creativity. The graphics in the teaching materials include many different styles of drawing (not just Mickey Mouse )
DWE is also a nice, well-developed English-learning system too. I think we really have to choose one that suit our babies' needs.
A personal reason why I prefer DWE less is I think Disney is trying to expand its Kingdom (business) through education so as to make sure everyone will like Mickey Mouse (future customer). I think there is a heavy share of business element mixed in the education materials le~ Everyone who likes Mickey, please don’t be offended as this is just my personal feeling. To be frank, I love Mickey Mouse, and I am already prepared to rush into HK Disneyland to enjoy the rides and do lots of shopping le~
i bought a full set of English Time before my baby was born (cost $4xxxx) and i don't like DWE cos (1) it is too hardsell on the characters, like mickey and (2) the products seemed to have made for long time and it appeared that i was going back to 70s or 80s when i saw their VCD.
as for the English TIme, i think the crucial factor of buying this product is its comprehensiveness. it covered english materials, children's songs (mother goose) and many books of general knowledge and stories. their teaching topics are rather up-to-date as they will refer to computer, email...
however, i havn't used this English pack now as my baby is still too young to learn those english and thus cannot see its effect. But i always let her listen to or watch VCD about the mother goose. she likes it very much. if u have used this product, please share with me...
