我絕對認同你嘅講法.事實上,我地每個父母都希望自己個小朋友過得開心,快樂! 所以好視乎我地自己嘅價值觀. 有人會認為A路好,有人認為B路好,亦有人認為A,B路唔好. 其實只要自己有為小朋友切想過,就可以當是盡了責任. 帶小朋友係冇formula的, 我地只可以吸取前人嘅經驗, 而將來嘅野冇人可以擔保.

Just found out this topic.
Thanks coconut, it's very useful and help us to express out our worries.

In Natasha's case, we've decided to let her start N1 in 2006 and hopefully promote to K1 in 2007. Then we will see if she is capable and comfortable in being a small girl, if not, we will let her repeat K1 at he same school in 2008 or change to another kindergarten if the school is not happy or suitable for her.

Regarding the 名校's, we've decided not to apply for the kindergartens in Kowloon Tong since it's far away for her (even I can drive her everyday), secondly don't think she will be capable and of course don't want to force her into special training in order to get into one of those kindergartens.

I totally agreed that if they are capable, it's better to give them as much chance to expose to new things in their early stage as possible.
Therefore at the moment, we are trying our best to find a balance between teaching new informations to her and letting her have fun and not feel being pushed.

因為芷蕎的發展係跟番佢預產期即04年2月BB, 所以佢會係大仔先入學, 06年8月讀N1, 07年8月先讀N2

家楠歲半針係私家打,返健康院做歲半評估,原先是姑娘做,但姑娘覺得佢做得唔係咁好就轉左醫生做,醫生話佢各方面都冇問題,唯一就係佢o既學習能力比其他同年慢,例如:仲未識講野,冇分辨能力等,所以依家醫生又轉介去尢德x人兒童評估中心睇專科!
分辨能力係指例如媽媽即係邊個,講爸爸佢識唔識指邊個係,比唔同形狀佢配對識唔識邊d係相同放在一起,醫生都教家楠邊d應該放你一齊,但佢教極都唔識,醫生話佢依家o既stage應該係屬於一歲.不過醫生亦都話如果平時冇人教佢冇人同佢講野係會慢d o個喎!所以我都唔係好擔心,不過既然唔駛錢咪去睇下o羅!

I've consult some friends for "repeat" schedule (if necessary):

05-06 N1
06-07 K1
07-08 K2
08-09 K2 (may be changed to another kinder.)
09-10 K3

Their advice is that:
1. Never repeat at K3 as during that year, the teachers will "train" the kids' mental to accept the fact that they will go to other school / primary. Therefore, the kid will expect the fact and will query why they don't (if repeat) and may feel unhappy.

2. We may don't really know whether our kids are suitable to be a "big boy" or "small boy" but the teachers have the experience (as they can compare our kids with others in the class) and hence better seek for the teachers' advice at that moment.

3. Based on item 2 above, not much observation can be found by teachers during K1 but K2 is ok.

To be concluded, if you want to repeat, it's a better choice at K2 lor

我詁holmanm唔使教都識, 妳記得果set木珠子ma, 我第一次俾紫鈺玩, 想叫佢將相同顏色擺埋一齊, 佢竟然自己搵d相同既形狀穿埋一齊, 完全無穿錯, 佢依家日日玩。穿完三角形, 穿圓形咁。

可能我唔識野, 但我覺得哩d測試真係唔當得咩喎, 我見過妳仔仔係好活潑好動, 會唔會佢根本就唔想去學, 所以醫生教佢佢都唔識呢? 紫鈺前兩個星期都唔識將相同物件擺埋一齊架(playgroup時玩既: 將面包同面包埋一個籃, 薯條同薯條擺一個籃), 紫鈺都做唔到, 剩係拿住d假食物唔肯放。有時小朋友掛住研究/玩d玩具, 未必會聽我地指示。

幼稚園係小朋友進學府第一道門, 係香港既制度來講又對以後既路影響好大, 所以當然要俾小朋友機會去試最好又最適合佢既學校。我自己認為好學校教育素質一定會好d。我唔覺得名校一定會讀得有壓力/無童年樂趣, 如果第時紫鈺讀書, 我一定要佢靠自己, 而唔係要我日日同佢溫功課, 上補習班, 咁我一定會同佢轉校, 因為唔係驚佢辛苦而係我辛苦呀~! :-P 我會要佢量力而為。
最驚係holmanma所講: 咁比小d野比小朋友學又會唔會奪去小朋友o既學習機會呢!--------我依家都好內疚唔可以教紫鈺更多。

Oh~ I didn't have a set for holman ah (as last time I bought one set less for other kid and hence I gave holman's set to other). Let me buy it back sin~

Last night, I went to kmk and buy one set of "game" for holman. It has 40 pcs blocks with different colours and shapes, and one "plate". The kid has to match those with same "colour" and "shape. It's now 20% off ah

原來如此!既然佢轉介家楠去睇專科,當然去一去都無防啦!但我估只不過家楠未有接觸過佢問嘅野,或者唔喜歡接受其他人嘅指令,所以先做唔倒!好似mycathy所講,我覺得家楠發展体能比較快.

講開repeat,我都同我d媽咪朋友講開,佢哋話讀幼稚園d小朋友已經很懂事,佢地會怕比同學笑,所以我都諗如果repeat會係K1 or K2或者讀多一年幼兒院

係呀!所以repeat個年希望可以轉新校,一來小朋友冇咁hard feeling,唔會見到自己D同學仔個個升班,二來可以學D新野.

所以我都唔係好擔心,不過既然唔駛錢咪去睇下o羅!-----> 無錯呀... 都唔駛太擔心.... 好似我哥個女咁.... 佢兩歲前都好似唔講野.... 人地教佢野... 佢唔會聽...或跟住做.... 但一到左兩歲.... 佢就突然變得好犀利.... 仲自己識背幾首唐詩.... 所以不斷教小朋友新事物... 佢遲早一日會爆發出來... 乜都識架!!!!
