I declared "non-resident" and cut SIN card/health card many years ago. But I will return to Toronto later and plan to live there. Is it necessary to do some declaration to change the status back to "Resident"?? If yes, what is the procedure??
mabel - i don't think you need to take any precedure. once you return to canada, you could then re-apply your sin card, OHIP card (for Ontario) driving license ..etc
with a valid residential address then it is already a sound proof of your residency..
i knew one of my friend is doing that and she has no issue when returning to canada, but some of the people did not notify the bank for the address change since they still have relative to handle their bank account, then no Non-resident tax rate being apply on to their interest income.
babyjk2013 - then will be a brand new start for you.. u will have to get the driving licence, get the health card, adopt to the life style here instead of the busy and fast pace HK style..
