前一阵子我看了一本书,相信很多人都看过:
The Rules of Parenting by Richard Templar
里头有一段说得很好:
... you have to support the school, even over the things you don't care for. You have to encourage your child to do their homework, even if you do think they have too much of it. And you have to get them to wear that silly uniform, or play hockey, or treat the teachers with respect even if they don't respect them...
.... Well, you can tell them exactly what I've just told you: it's a package deal, and as long as you're there, you buy into the package. That way, you're educating them about how to function as part of a social group. Co-operating with the system is more important than agreeing with it.
