Of course, she can speak cantonese, cook chinese food, (my mom teach her before) know how to sing baby songs, know what is Micky, what is hello kity? So she can easy to pass the screening if some employer want to find maid in HK. But I remind the employer, if some maid not finish the contract and fried by employer, there should be great reasons. Don't trust their excuse such as " my mom give underpaid, or my mom fired by boss, no money employ me, or my mom moving abroad.
Very often they will use the excuse that my mom give underpaid. Mycolleague not renew 2nd contract with her maid, when she find another employer, the new employer ask her why she not renew contract with old employer, she give the excuse that my colleague give underpaid. She think that the new employer will not ask my colleague, but the new employer really ask my colleague, so they know that the maid not worth to trust. (near the end of the contract, my colleague find that there is some photo that the maid take with her friends before, but the background is my colleague's sitting room and bedroom!!)
so I really advise the mother esp need to take care new born, u should be careful if u want to find the Indonesian maid from local, no matter finish contract or not. I f they just finish two yrs contract, if there perfomance is good, why the employer not renew the contract and let them go?
Of course, employ maid from overseas is also like lucky draws. My son 3 yrs old, this is my third time to fry maid. I am looking forwards a better maid come in May. HK policy protect them very much. In HK, we need to have promotion period when we work, e.g. 1 month, but why they no need to have? For the air ticket, I willing to give, but for the 1 month salary, if I find that they are not fit my requirment for the first 1 to 2 wks, why I should pay so much money-- the 1 month salary!!!
