Argument against abortion –
This first passageshows that God considers the unborn fetus a life and values it enough to demand a "life for a life"!
Exodus 21:22-23
22 “If people are fighting and hit a pregnant woman and she gives birth prematurely but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined whatever the woman’s husband demands and the court allows. 23 But if there is serious injury, you are totake life for life"
If the taking of a fetus' life by accident is deserving of death, how can anyone say God doesn't hate abortion?
Your point that God does not want the child resulting from a rape is not from the bible. Here are 3 laws on immoral sexual acts - none mention a pregnancy. I don't know of any others. Judah was ready to kill Tamar when it was found out she was pregnant, but he doesn't speak for God.
But you say in the case of rape the woman was pregnant and then killed. However in 2 of the 3, the woman is guilty of fornication and killed immediately, before conception took place. They didn't have long trials back then. Remember John 8 with the woman taken in the very act of adultery and they were ready to stone her immediately? That is according to the Law of Moses. In the 3rd case, the woman was not killed. So none of these support your idea.
Deuteronomy 22:22
22 If a man is foundsleeping with another man’s wife, both the man who slept with her and the woman must die. You must purge the evil from Israel.
Key phrase - "is found"; they were to be killed immediately of course.
23 If a man happens to meet in a town a virgin pledged to be married and he sleeps with her, 24 you shall take both of them to the gate of that town and stone them to death—the young woman because she was in a town and did not scream for help, and the man because he violated another man’s wife. You must purge the evil from among you.
Key phrase - "happens"; this just happened, otherwise how would anyone know if she screamed or not? The witnesses who heard her scream would immediately speak up, right? Otherwise their testimony is weak.
25 But if out in the country a man happens to meet a young woman pledged to be married and rapes her, only the man who has done this shall die. 26 Do nothing to the woman; she has committed no sin deserving death. This case is like that of someone who attacks and murders a neighbor, 27 for the man found the young woman out in the country, and though the betrothed woman screamed, there was no one to rescueher.
Keyphrase - "only the man who has done this shall die"
