So what! Our govt still implement her tough policy on employers of foreign DHs? No protection on us, even we terminate a maid, not only we have to pay the maid miscellaneous ... money, but also have to give up the govt tax, unless we fry the old maid at the same time. Then, how can we find a person to take care of our children? In fact, you can hardly find a local people to do this kind of job. Is it fair to us?
Did you read the Next Magazine this week, an employer just employ her maid for one day, had to compensate $7000 to fry her because she has infectious desease (sex). Once a maid arrival HK, we have to 100% responsible for her. Pay 100% of her medical expenses, is it fair to us? We cannot include it our expenses for tax reporting like those commercial sectors but we have cover our employees exceed of local people, e.g. no probation period, travelling expenses to airport, ...... Is it fair to us.
Those maids' organisation claimed that maids have been ill-treated by their employers so they left. I had this experience before, its a long story, she took advantage of our pitty, money... finally, she left home when we were at work. I don't think short-payment, ill-treated because many employers hire their maids are to take care of their families and children. They cook the food, they have opportunities to eat before employers. How can we ill-treated them?
I think there are many real unfortunate cases related to the employment of foreign DHs, but our govt obviously ignore our real situations. Anybody can help us?
