yes my mom does not computer thing, so i just call her once a week. and of course they could like u to be around, so whenever i visit HK, i used to go secretly without letting my friends know - or else, i will have lots of gathering with them. and not much time with my mom and 99,
so last time, they even ask me to go out my own without them to see my friend. so whatever u did to them, they know... and they will understand and accept - in a long run... so don't give up just do whatever u could...

You are lucky to have mom that understand your heart.....I won\'t give up....though I know it will be hard to make my parents understand my heart to them never change.
My situation is same as you. My relationship with my parents was better when we were apart. You know chinese people, it is hard to say outloud "love you" or sometimes even "thank you for helping me" or "I'm so glad I have a mother like you". Luckily, my parents are willing to learn computers (because they can watch tv episodes/movies, different newspapers, etc online) so we email, chat on msn or webcam with my son several times a week.
If parents are afraid to touch computer, too complicated, maybe buy them an ipad/tablet which seems less scary.
In case you didn't know, they have stopped accepting all parents/grandparents immigration applications until end of 2013 (this date may change). Instead, they will issue Super Visas.
