I am also a newcomer here, i came across the same problme. Many GP here did not accept new patients. So I have to go to my husband's GP. He is a real "rubbish". Evey time I went to see him, he said i have no problem and send me home. I see a specialist in HK becasue I have some woman's organ problem, and he refuse to refer me to a specialist.... Am I just waiting here to die. I have a trip to HK next week and I need to go back to my specialist in HK....... :-(
rabbit2006,
yes!! exactly sucks here of the medical system. even i have problems during my pregnancy period, i still have to make appointment and wait within 2 days....is two days!!!! come on, gonna to died at that moment!! that's why i had back to HK for delivery. so i support you to go back HK to see doctor.
Dr Anne Lo is a very good family doctor (very patient), my family with her for 6 yrs before we moved back to HK. Her office is at Midland and Finch (the old Royal Bank Building).
I just try the new walk-in clinic/GP - leslie/major mackenzie, they take new patient and, not sure if that's too far for you, you could as well to try out
the phone number is 905-737-0868
poohpoohmama, your girl grew really fast, really pretty - looks like you...
i guess you have no choice for the public school, you will have to study in the neighborhood school, am I correct? If you need to across the district, you will have to put on waiting list or even pay to study in private school.
Oh, what a pity that the doctor dont even accept the wife even the whole family is seeing him/her.
Btw, you mentioned that you have signed him/her for 1 year... Do you mean that we have to signed up for a GP for 1 year before you change to another one??
Recently my husband switched his family doctor to Dr. Dominic Chow in New Mok Kok Plaza (Kennedy and Hwy 7). This doctor is also a Pediatrician too, so your children can see him too. He is very patient. You can call his office (905-474-5633) and see if he accept new patients. I asked him if he will accept my daughter if I want to switch her over and he said yes.
Most of the pharmacy will show the prescription fee and you can find out before getting prescriptions. I think Walmart, No Frills has the lower fee, like $5.99.
If you are low income family, you can apply for Trillium Drug Program which allows you pay $2 per prescription! But you will need to provide income proof which is Notice of Accessment of previous tax year.
Doggie,
If my daughter goes to public school, she will go to Richmond Rose. We have no choice. I checked the info that school is okay.
are you in work or at home, thought you can't surf the web during office hour.
my girl friend (living in your area) once sent her girl to Yip's paying $1000/month. but move back to the public when she was in Senior kinder..
now she is studied in the elementary school right behind the wal-mart (your area)
I am in the office now. They took out the access to MSN and Yahoo Mail, but I can still surfing the web.
I plan to put Caron in Unionville Montessori in Preschool, then a Christian school for JK and SK. After that, we are not sure yet. I think it's better to put children in private before grade 1 because public school teach nothing in JK and SK. Kids can't even learn alphberts and numbers, but they are expected to read in grade 1 that is crazy!
