My daughter also likes to 'see' book (not read).
From her 4-5 months, I let her see the books. At the beginning, she always ate the books (every book looks like eating by the mouse), and insisted to see the front and back page only (strange!).
Now, she will see the book from the first page till the last page. She will point to the objects on book and "Ah....." to ask me telling her what is that.
I bought small size colorful books which contains animals, fruits, bus, ABC etc. I had bought her large size book, but it's difficult for her to handle.
I think the most important is to let the baby having habit and interest in reading book.

(Hi, DK486, I am the mom lives at Block 4, Cheerful Garden. You can buy cheap and good books at a book store at Island Resort which only children book are sold. A hard page colorful book 5"x6" only costs $10. Very good!)
