I also from sydney too but back to HK for 2 yrs la, 考慮近番去生 or 仁安生, Dr Leung 有friend 係 Sydney, 係唔係好似佢咁好?? hehe
你係sydney 邊間生? please share with me, my friend just booked Martha's, this is also my first preference if I am in sydney, her doctor is at North Sydney
you know, with the allowance we got from government, even I have already stopped my health fund, but the difference I need to pay is like the amount I need to pay in HK for staying in 2 pp room,my friend told me she spent around AUD10000 at Martha's 3yrs ago and she had Csection, but in sydney, you are staying in private room, my family is also there..so if I can not book 仁安, i will go back.

Oh, a lot of similarities here! Well I had my first baby in HK (Baptist) with Dr Leung. He was great, so efficient and no pain (of course I was a lot younger then). It was less than HK$20k but it was 11 years ago.
Then we migrated to Sydney and I had my baby there. I came back on business trip when I was 12 weeks pregnant so I still went to see him (and he saw it's a boy, again). As I lived in Sydney so there was no need for a decision (HK or Sydney). I had my 2nd in North Shore Hospital (Gov't, so all free), and it was very good. I've been to Martha's too as just before I had my baby my friend (local) had a baby there.
Then we came back to HK (baby was 1 year old) and I had my 3rd baby in Union (we now live in Shatin) again with Dr Leung. Very efficient again! I think he is extremely professional, and my 3 babies were all naturally delivered. He believes in natural delivery too. The only thing about him is he's quite cool sometimes....
But it sounds like you get better support in Sydney. I think this support is very very important, as we didn't have any family support there. But the govt system helped a lot, like nurse visiting afterwards, childcare centre organizing gathering and meetings regularly (and we were in Chatswood). If you fly, I think it has to be before 28 weeks and with doc's cert.
我個同事兩年前係 royal north shore public 生, 但佢話 public hospital 係 midwife 同接生, 生左醫生先黎睇個BB有冇野, but 佢 stay 係單人房好正呀!! 你係唔係咁家??
also public hospital 可以自己選醫生?

for family support, 我husband works in hk ma, so if i go back, he will miss out a lot...so i still prefer to stay here for my first BB, also my family will come back esp before delivery n 1mth afterwards..so i guess is ok..
Oh actually I think for gov't hospital you cannot choose...especially they usually have mid-wife to do the delivery unless there is complication or c-section. What happened with me was with my first baby Dr Leung told me I lost blood more than normal so in fact I stayed on bed for one day before going off it. Then I told North Shore nurse when I did pre-natal check and when I deliver, there was one mid-wife and one doctor, all the time. So it was the doctor who helped me deliver. It was a very intense labour, compared to the first and third ones....Dr Leung helped it as painless as possible!
oh, i tried to use 肚紋膏 at the first pregnancy (and it cost me almost $200) but it was too smelly I didn't use it at the end. I only use normal creme, and did not have any marks afterwards! But after the 3rd baby...... :-( :-(
