Smart Cell, a UK company recommended by my obstetrician. I choose them because of their longer history as compared to those in HK and I have more confident in the company background. However their laboratory is in UK and therefore the stem cells are stored overseas. I had once expressed my concern but they said the cells could arrive HK on an overnight basis.
HealthBaby!!
As I knew, 陳水扁 is not their 股東, only her daughter also join this company after born her son...but dont know why many people said he is one of the 股東
It seems that that AABB accreditation of Cordlife is only for the blood lab in Singapore, not that in HK.
Similarly, the AABB accreditation of Health Baby is for the headquarters in Taiwan, not that in HK.
Cryolife is claiming she is getting the AABB accreditation, so it is yet to see.
I am wondering which one is better.
For Li Lai Shan (the Olympic Gold Medalist in windsurfing) did choose Health Baby for her second child, while her first child is using Cryolife. Is there any significance of so doing.
This was also the same choice for a mami above, would you kind enough to share what was the reason for changing to Health Baby for your 2nd child?
去BB展之前唸住幫襯 CryoLife(因有朋友介紹), 我同老公花咗大部份時間行哂三間臍帶血公司嘅Booth, 最後幫襯咗HealthBaby, 開頭都不太喜歡佢係台灣背景, 但佢的確係較專業, 設備亦係最先進, Lab + Store + Office係最大, 香港只有佢用嗰套儲存system, which can reduce the probability of contemination and deactivation, which is very important to serve its purpose, right? 所以最後都幫襯咗佢, 雖然比另外兩間貴少少.
I only read thru the brochures, pamphlets and materials of the 3 companies, and seems that the BioArchive system is the most convincing, although I will never able to differentiate the real pros and cons of each system they are using.
Nevertheless, the strongest selling point of HealthBaby is the switching of cord blood bank from their competitors to HealthBaby, when the 2nd or 3rd kid was born. I think there is some meaning in it. As parents will always give the best to their child. If there is not much difference in price, HealthBaby is standing out with some edges.
