Hi everyone,

I'm also planning to go to Samui in August. Here are some of the hotels that I'm considering.

Chaweng Beach: Convenient and busy but may be very crowded
1. Amari Palm Reef Resort: It got most of the positive comments but the price increment for summer is the greatest compared to low season
2. Central Samui Beach Resort: Good location and good service. In low season this one is more expensive c.f. to 1. But in the package I read so far, it seems that the price is lower in this summer.
3. Chaweng Regent Beach Resort: In their website, the facilities seem very good. They have DVD inside the room so we can bring some DVD to enjoy at night. Besides, they are having summer special for kids that no charge on extra bed and breakfast. However, it has some negative comments, especially about the foul-smelling of drainage in bungalow.

Lamai Beach: Quiet and nice but may be inconvenience.
1. Renaissance Koh Samui Resort & Spa: There is private jacuzzi in the terrace of all the deluxe room. You can view the beautiful sunset while massaging in the jacuzzi
2. Pavilion Samui Boutique Resort: This seems to be a good budget alternative.

The price of most packages has not yet out. So far, I can only find those for Renaissance and Pavilion. The price of packages together with the air flight surcharge is almost 2/3 more than that of low season!

Hi, jason&jodie,

I plan to go on Mon and back on Sun, because there is noon flight on Sun. So I will stay for 7 days and 6 nights. Agree, most package都未有實際價錢表. Those I got are from Lotus, Hong Thai and Kam Hon. But seem quite expensive. Here are some of the websites that I'm screening.

3. www.hongthai.com.hk
4. www.package.hk
5. www.airticket.com.hk
6.www.wincastle.com.hk

Because, most people said that more budget packages are available in Sun Travel and Wincastle Travel, so I'm still waiting for their 實際價錢表.

BTW, anyone who are struggling with the choice of hotels. You may gain more information by viewing the reviews from other travellers in the following website.

我月頭去左蘇梅玩,好正呀!
6日5夜,住Amari Palm Reef Resort & Spa .
嗰邊d天氣好舒服.
我地有一日出島Koh Nangyuan ,有好多魚架!亞女坐係水床上餵魚,d魚係亞女身邊游來游去,佢真係開心到不得了!
有兩日都包Taxi 週圍去,
夜晚記住要去放煙花&孔明燈呀!
我個女玩到好開心;到而家都仲話要去Samui 呀!

Glad to know that you enjoy the trip so much. Did you just go to Koh Nangyuan or did you go to Koh Tao as well? Where did you join the local tour? Is there tour just going to Koh Nangyuan? Did you go hiking on Koh Nangyuan? Thank you for sharing.

但係我個女太細啦!我吾想去"Koh Tao",所以 Agent 安排我地

我係出發前 send mail 比 agent ,到酒店後call 佢嚟收$.
1400b一位,佢好好人架~

How long does it take to Koh Nangyuan?
I think Koh Tao is too far. I just want to stay in the beach & feed fish.

Yes, 'hiking' means walking up to the viewpoint. Do you kown how long does it take? Are you also booking your local tour in Mr. Wanchai's agency as suggested by people in thailandfans? Do you write a 'yau kee' for your trip?

The information is very helpful in planning your trip. However, mind you that people in this forum are usually going in pairs, their choices of hotel may not meet the need of people going with kids like us.
