I heard a friend's husband was coma in China during sleeping and passed away few months ago. He was nearly 40 and got 2 kids still in kindergarten.

Will you go to book fair tmr?

I know one BK mum (wensx) helps to order books from UK (e.g. bpp. rh etc).

The info below is quote from her blog:

對換率 : £1 x HK$16
運費 : 1g x HK$0.16(有20kg) 1g x HK$0.15(有30kg) 1g x HK$0.13(有40kg)
集齊一定數量訂購
運送途中可能引致的壓痕和摺痕。
我落單訂書前三天內先付書價30%
落單訂書後大概兩星期收貨。
本人收到書後會先磅重,再通知訂家運費多少。
本人亦會在收到書後拍照連運費email 給訂戶
訂戶必須於本人通知後三天內聯絡及入數。
需於七日內進行交收，否則本人會將該書本沒收。
每月對換率亦可能有所浮動。
每月運費可能會上升,因原油付加費。

If the books ordered is 10kg, then postage will become 10x1000x$0.16 = $1,600!!

Cheaper book price seems cannot compensate postage!

I've utmost confidence in you - that you would calc and know what you just found out.

Postage is a real deterrant.

I figured out that a set of Word Family Tales would mean postage of ~HK$180, before book cost !

Just want to tell you why don't buy the Geronimo Stilton thru HKPTU before you travelled to Australia ! The prices from HKPTU are gone up to $12 per each la ! Original price is $40.80 --> now $52 for all.

I have to dig out where is the cheapest counter for selling the GS at the bookfair. But all are selling at 20% off !
$66 --> $52.80 after discounted.

OIC. Nevermind la, I've got all titles already (price ranged from $4x to $6x) from various bookshops.

Kv seems to start losing interest in GS ... lucky that I can catch the tides and let him finished reading 32 books!!

MUST take a look at original px, which can be diff with diff shops.
eg. 新雅, [email=$40@, less]$40@, less[/email] 30% = $28@, for any quantity of Engl books.
Step One, $38@, less 20% if buy less than 5 books, less 30% if buy 5 Engl books or more.

Asked KingHorn whether they have the new titles of 閱讀123 mentioned by KL, since they displayed those titles we already have. But answer is No, they don't have the new titles yet. They have the 小兵 series which we bought, at a slightly cheaper px than ours, and they also have #37 - #40 which are new books which we haven't bought. But only less 25%, so instead of carrying all the way from BkFair I decided NOT to buy yesterday, instead lets join together and buy using VIP px (same as BkFair px) later.

Want to go to OUP and Hall 2 too !!

Logico
南亞 has both Logico and 智多fun.
For Logico, they have complete series, i.e. Rondo (6 buttons), Piccolo (10 buttons) and Maximo (16 buttons).
But their px is

. Even if buy 60 sets, each set would be HK$60. Better wait for Big6 version. (This is about one of the few things I like about Big6 ! haha !)
And there are 16 sets in Maximo alone.

Engl VCD / DVD expensive Engl material for young kids
1 of the big counters is located next to the counter of 新雅. I don't think they are doing good business, cos 1 of the salesmen intercepted me as I walked along the outer rim of 新雅's counter, 踩過界, and asked "Do you have a kid aged 0 - 6y ? ..." I said "NO !" and walked away to look at more新雅books, while he was trying to say his next line.

Free material, Singapore- based
While I was walking leisurely down one of the aisles, a lady handed me some bookmarks, saying they were for free. The counter had nothing except for a few books on display (less than 10 books), and this lady and an Indian young guy was handing out bookmarks. Which made me look twice.
The lady said, "we have some free info, pls take a look".
Turned out it was an attempt to intro an educational website from Sing, established ~7m ago.
