Regarding the book Silverfin, I found it in the bookshop Bookanzen. The bookshop was recently referred by my son's school PTA. $56 each. Are you interested?

Finally, I managed to grab a few Astrosaurs in TST Comm Prexx today. Wow, $100 for 3. Luckily, no need to be BOC cardbearer to enjoy the discounted price.

In fact, I paid $75 each the year before.

I find most CP customers haven't got BOC credit card, so may be they offered the same discount to all people on their last day of sale.

fyi, I also bought a lot Astrosaurs in the school book fair at $6x several months ago....

Bookazen? Is it the one located in Lee Garden II?

I've just renewed the PCCW Tel contract at average price of $33:

- 18-month contract
- each month $110 less rebate $22 = $88 p.m.
- Just need to pay 9 mth and the other 9 months will be free during the contract period
- $180 Wellcome coupon as free gift.

If the Silverfin book is the Graphic Novel : Silverfin, (SilverFin The Graphic Novel Book as on eB, US$13.76@) then $56 is real cheap !! and yes please !

(can't supply the link : the toolbars for "http://www.xxxxx and for the various buttons on the top of the screen have both disappeared, since Thurs, tho I haven't done anything in particular to remove it, just can't get it back even tho I've tried with my ltd knowledge !!)

But if its just the novel (book w/o comics) then no thanks la, piglet isn't reading novels yet.

I cannot renew the contract for you cos renewal has to be done by the line owner gar.....

Actually I sent cut form to PCCW to terminate my tel line (my line will be expired in a month) and I received their call after a week and they provided me with this offer la.

You may call 1000 asking them to send you a cut form (or you can get this form from their retail shop).

Yes, Bookarzen is in Causeway Bay. I haven't been to there. I just ordered via school PTA. The books are not really cheap. But quite a lot quality books can be found then.

Got the book (#21 of Story Ferris Wheel) from Cite la !
$73 less 30% ==> $51.1@

There were 4 copies, and I bought them all !!
(I was hiding among the rest of the Story Ferris Wheel books, orig I only found 3, then got the last one too. No more unless they replenish.)

I asked them why they had 30% off so often, and the shopkeepers said, the discount applied only to specific publishers.
==> I think their "policy" is to offer less 30% on ALL Dung Fong and Yuen Lau books (which suits us vvv well).

孩子的心是最柔軟的，孩子的成長故事最美麗動人

一九九九年九月二一日凌晨一點多，我被地震晃醒之後，聽著收音機裡播報著新聞：「南投酒廠爆炸」、「中橫有挖路工人被埋」、「新莊、松山有樓房倒塌」……從不知地震可怕的我，以為只是一次較大的地震，就像每次的地震一樣，總會造成少數的意外。所以，聽著新聞，覺得有些遙遠。
後來，悲慘的消息愈來愈多，愈逼愈近。
再看到電視新聞中傾倒的樓房，崩壞的山頭，罹難者親屬的悲痛的模樣，露宿街頭人們倉皇的臉龐…那些苦、那些痛，簡直就是直直逼迫到眼前、心底，叫人幾乎無法承受。
地震後的第六天，接到小魯文化沙永玲總編輯的電話，希望我寫一個關於臺灣兒童在地震災害遭遇的故事。她說，小魯的成長小說，原本就是希望孩子透過閱讀，對生活中所遭遇或可能遭遇的事，有更廣的感受與思考，並因此得到成長。我答應要想想；心緒還太混亂，我得再想想。
看報紙、看電視，收集著材料，一邊構思，我覺得這場災難，逼得我太近，讓我擔憂自己不知道能不能抽身而出，思考得夠清楚；而這場災難，其實又離我很遙遠，我所能憑藉的，就是電視與報紙的報導，因此，沒把握能有足夠的投入，並在描寫上不失真。
我把憂慮告訴沙總編，她說，她並不認為，不是受災者就寫不出好作品。她說，文化工作者不提供鋼材，也不提供發電機，提供的卻是人生的樑架，與心靈的發電機。
而我注意著報導的同時，傷痛之外，其實也看到了希望！
外國救難隊志願前來。那是希望！
慈善團體、軍方總動員救災。那是希望！
許多人丟下工作，開著車運送物資到中部，或是自掏腰包，為災民煮飯。那是希望！
雖然房子倒塌，受災的人還提供大片土地興建組合屋。那是希望！
孩子們住在帳棚裡，天真的大聲說著他們不怕地震。那也是希望！
那些希望傳遞到我這裡，讓我篤定下來，更想把希望傳遞得更廣、更久、更遠，就用我的寫故事的筆！
經過思索，開始動筆，然後修改，這個以文學形式呈現的報導性小說，終於完成了，它以裡面小主角的角度取了書名﹛「我的名字叫希望」。我想，天真善良的孩子，他們的希望最為燦爛；也許有人會認為他們幼稚、不懂世事，然而，我卻感覺到那裡面有著「無懼的希望」，就算黑暗降臨，大人感到困頓，覺得無法再多走一步時，孩子無懼的希望之光卻持續閃爍著，讓世界仍然有光亮。
「我的名字叫希望」！希望，每一地、每一個人，都能點起希望之光，彼此照亮！
