Yes, I want to go outdoors with my girls. We had been shutting in the house for so long lar (whole winter). However, Niagara-On-The-Lake is too far for me, I am scared to drive that far myself alone. However, this is really a good place, I had been there two years ago, so beautiful. Really wish to go there again next time.

You can take the train from union station. About $56 round trip. After you arrive, take a local cab to the town (around $10). I remembered there is a hotel that belongs to Fatty-Lai's sister (HK Apple Daily CEO). The scenic that you can see CN Tower from Naigara on the lake is breath taking.

I am planning to fishing this weekend and watch Matrix Reload (My wife hates that movie). Of course, if my queen and princess permit me to do so... :-P

According to my wife, she said I was more mature and responsible (which I don't agree). We did a lot of research, attending class (labor, breastfeeding, what dad can do) prior the arrival. By the time the new member arrived, we were well prepared (my wife thinks I am over done which I don't agree too).

I remembered when Francine was born, I had the honor to cut the cord. Live time memory. Not to mention, changing diaper (You need N95).

After the baby was born, WalMart, Shoper Drugmart become my second home. I can blind fold my eyes and still able to walk to the baby isle.

you are definitely a good dad. I wish my husband will do such a good job when we have baby. I may need to introduce you to him, then you can educate him. ha ha.

hello all, happy victoria day. could you pls tell me more on the area of Major Mac/Woodbine. as we plan to buy house in that area. any suggestion for that?

we passed by the park - two good point(pond)??? (on highway 7 and main street - I think) and quite a good park to have a walk, and ride the bike. We played the soccers with friend's kid over there last weekend. and plan to do so in this weekend too after watching the Matrix reloaded...

I have quite a few friends live there. Good side of the location is near 404, there is a TTC bus. Bad side is near the airport and it may be noisy.

What builder are you buying from? My friend's house was finished interior in a week!!! Of course the craftmanship is... :(

TTC? or YRT? where is the airport? can't see it around? I saw that from the Aspen Ridges sales office. but the price is really expensive. A small house of 1700 sq ft ask for $350K. but since we just came, and now renting the apartment, so for long term, need to have our own house.
any advise?

sorry, I got confused. per my limited knowledge, TTC stop in Steeles, and is there any run beyond that? as I'm referring to Major Mackenzie (hope my spelling is correct).

well, i don't know about you guys in toronto, but historically, we hardly have nice weather on the victoria day weekend ... and looking at the forcast tells me so too.

i was planning to have a walk in the mountains... but not so sure now. the most is having bbq at home!

1700sf for 350k! that's a lot of money! is that an upscale community?

I can't tell as I'm new, but we saw the open house in Hwy 7 & kennedy for 2000 sq feet (5 years old house) also asking for $400K ... so we thought 350 is kind of reasonable for a brand new home.

a walk in the mountain, I'm interested too. .where about? I called up the Toronto tourist, they said some of the provincial park not fully open, so can't really go for the mountain trails...

if you have the info, could you pls send to me?

fyi, my sister bought a townhouse a few months ago, about 3000 sq.ft., about 300k only, so 1700 sq.ft. for 350k, is quite expensive. her house is about 4 yrs old and still look very very new (both interior and exterior), that is located at major mckenzie/kennedy.

Woodbine/Major Mack. is quite near my place (I lived in Leslie/Major Mack.). Right behind the site, it's the buttonville Airport. Buttonville Airport are for students who take flight lesson and carries only small aircraft (private jets too). However, most aircrafts would take off/land from the west and so, I got most of the hit in my neighborhood.

Woodbine/Major Mack takes TTC route 224+ and it goes south to Victoria Park. Here is the TTC map link. (You need PDF reader available in www.adobe.com) http://www.city.toronto.on.ca/ttc/pdf/rideguide.pdf
Some routes do pass Steeles. You have to pay additional fare.

There are number of new sites (sales office) along 16th Avenue and Major Mack. McCowan/16th, Kennedy/Major Mack., Woodbine/Major Mack., Bayview/Major Mack. When I bought mine back in Y2K, it was around 320k, now some of my neighbor who have the same model as mine were sold for 435k. There are pros and cons on new home (same as second home). If you ask the sales agent, they will say second home and if you ask the builder, the answer will be different.

As regarding mountain trail, it's pretty flat in Ontario. Since you are new to Toronto, have you been to Thousand's island. About 2 1/2 hours drive from 401E. Great place to go, You can take the boat cruise that tour around those islands. One of the major attraction is the castle in one of the island. The island belongs to the US and so you need Passport/Citizenship card. For closer, try Scarborough Buff, Brimley Rd, go south until you come to the dead end. Yaght Club, great place for BBQ, beautiful scence.

Before we have kids, we would search for cottage rental. Just get a Saturday Star and look up the classified section. There are plenty of cottage rental. Fully furnish. Just bring your food and sleeping bed. I like renting than buying cottage because I don't have to stuck with one lake. Price varies. If you prefer modem, try resort instead.

Or enjoy the traffic jam entering/exiting Pacific Mall.

a 3000 sq ft townhouse? pretty big ah. Good price too. We just bought a townhouse in Maj Mac & Bayview for 1700 sq ft, for 280K ah!! Since I work downtown, I want to live closer to GO... no method la. Now, houses are so expensive.

My sister's family and my parents are in Calgary. I heard that the measurement of the house is different from Toronto. Therefore a 1700 sq ft house is much bigger than in Toronto. Is that true?
