I live in Whampoa, quite close to Kowloon Tong, so my dad & mom (they also live in Whampoa) can drive Bryan to school during pre-nursery. When he proceeds to K1, I'll probably let him take school bus.

Originally I've planned to let Bryan stay with the pre-nursery in Whampoa, but my mom recommends to put him in better kinder so as to better establish his foundation. She quoted the examples of her daughters -- i.e. myself + my 2 younger sisters. I studied in Good Hope Kindergarten which was already bi-lingual in those old days.... while my 2 younger sisters were not. And she found that I'm more competent in Eng and she said that I'm able to get in better primary/ secondary school. As long as my mom & dad are willing to bring him school, so I just go ahead la....

Actually I plan to have Bryan to study in traditional primary, but is considering to have him stay at international kindergarten for just 1-2 years, so as to build up his confidence and train him to be more presentable, of course to also lay a better foundation for his English la. Still have not decided yet... the "real" interntational kinder (Kingston, Tutor Time) are very expensive...

I'm still communicating with Bryan in English, while my hubby and my family talk with him in Cantonese. At least I find it useful because Bryan can understand both Eng & Cantonese when we talk to him.

Although when he speaks, he tends to speak Eng, maybe because some Eng is easier to pronounce (like blue, red, green... it's easier for him to speak in Eng than in Cantonese). Yet for some items he can speak both Eng + Cantonese (like fork, fish).

I'm still playing flash cards with Bryan, but of course the progress is very very slow

. Sometime I'm even not able to play with him once a day... :mrgreen: Actually I don't care how many words he know, and I just take this as a little game. But I find that in playing flash cards, Bryan tends to like words and hence he likes books. That the most important thing that I would like to see as I find that children nowadays watch too much TV (so as Bryan) and play a lot of TV games. Even they read, they tend to read comics.

If Ernest is impatient to play flash cards, maybe you can shorten it. I'm also trying to break it into small sections, sometimes we just play 5 cards a day.

I'm still using cards instead of computer to "flash", just to ensure that I can have more communications with Bryan. But then I need to "handmade" some as I've used up some cards that I've purchased before.

Apart from "flash cards", I'm also trying to reference some montessori concepts to play with Bryan, like colour tablets. Maybe you can also try.

淘淘今朝都係食烚蛋早餐, lunch食一碗烏冬

烚蛋好多mami喺bb好早就開始食, 不過細b只係食黃,唔比食白 - 我雖然唔知點解, 不過都一於照跟, 到淘淘大啲就成隻蛋食。啲大陸蛋之前話有蘇丹紅, 我又驚大陸有禽流感, 而家多數買力康蛋比淘淘食, 比婷婷食你都小心啲買啲蛋啦。

我女傭好少開tv, but我地放工返ok就會一路開tv, 食飯照睇, 去到瞓教先關機。

細路都好犀利, 訓到半夜會爬起身拎電視搖控去開電視

如想食西餐,平平地可以去eden coffee(萬宜大廈果間,我同你同小魚第一次見面的地方,你仲記得嗎?),不過冇得book,要你地d ftm早d去霸位.一係可以去la bouteille法國餐,set lunch around $80-$120,但份量唔係好多.兩間西餐廳都唔太大,我地大人連小孩有11人,可能要分枱坐.if想食茶,可以去lane crawford隔離大廈飲茶.

Haven't come to BK for quite some time... suddenly discover that you've already delivered sweetheart no. 2 !! Congratulations!

Is it very tiring to take care of 2 little sweethearts?

My mom needed to have a surgery last week so I'm at home taking care of Bryan these few days... so tiring! Particularly when I need to get online to work occasionally.

之前皓霖in果間成唔成功? 希望今個星期interview順利啦! 我有個朋友囝囝都係讀劍明。

有時都係度諗，係咪應該俾Ernest出去in下呢? 不過佢暫時講野咁落後，in都冇行，同埋太細始終唔想佢去咁遠(我地冇車,搭校車要成9個字),都係k1先算。不過如果n1讀得好，都唔會轉啦...

突然諗起有個學生，爸爸係中學教師，個囝有讀寫困難，幼稚園係讀根德園....不過宜家佢程度好唔掂....有時d野真係好難控制 :cry:

I know which "long name" kinder that you're talking about... as I know it doesn't offer PN ah.

Yes, Bryan will be interviewing Keen Mind PN this Sat, 2:45pm

I want Bryan to try applying other kinder (maybe St. Cat, KV) for K1 next year, so maybe it's better to have him stay with a better/ famous kinder in PN so that he can have a better chance. Will observe Bryan during his PN life and see whether the style of St. Cat or KV fits him more. For the moment I still don't know what "style" he is. Just know that he's a monkey when he plays, but he can also be quite focused when he reads.

Anyway I have Victoria (HMT) as backup as it already accepts Bryan for K1 next year.

Yea, Tutor Time/ Kingston are very expensive! It's still OK if Bryan just studies for 1 year PN (so I need to fasten my belt for just 1 year :mrgreen: ), but I'm not sure if Bryan will be competitive enough when he goes thru those K1 interviews next year, as int'l kinders might be more "playful"? I know that the curriculum of Keen Mind PN is already quite difficult as they start to teach part of the K1 curriculum.

No need to worry too much. Actually during PN interview they don't need to talk. For interviews like Yew Chung, it's so relaxing -- Bryan and I just joins the PN class for a while that afternoon, and the deputy head-mistress chat with us at the same time.... and Bryan is accepted immediately la!

Of course, there're competitive interviews like Victoria where our babies need to participate in groups and assess their different skills.

BTW, has Ernest applied/ interviewed any kinders?
