Thanks for yoru quick response!!!! I haven't posted ad. on Chinese newspaper yet. My friends and clients got over 60 phone calls once they posted the ad. for nanny.
My client's part time maid referred her friend to me and I talked to her on the phone last night. She wants $1400 per month for 6 working days a week plus all public holidays off. She's been doing this since 1996. She's now working for a couple with a 6 months old bb girl who pays $300 a week for 5 working days. She resigned already because of the $ issue. Boss keeps paying her check instead of cash and said that they might file tax return but didn't withhold any $ for her. Also, she said the bb girl is very hard to take care (very stick body).
One good thing about her is that she's divorced and she only has a son who is in college. That means she has no body to take care at her home.
I haven't thought about the insurance issue! Did u mean health insurance?
We'll meet with her today at her home.

Forgive me for being nosy

The salary your nanny is asking for seems to be on target if compared to LA. That's how much we had to pay for our old one when she worked 6 days. If 5 days, then she would charge $1200. Do you plan on filing a childcare deduction for your nanny?! If so, then you need to buy health insurance. But the cap on the childcare deduction is quite low...I think about $3000/year....verify with your accountant. For me, we just paid her cash and she dealt with the rest of the stuff...but since I decided to be a full-time mom, we let her go

3 hours drive will be very tough everyday, I would find a job closer to begin with and see how it goes. Gas money is not cheap nowadays

For this candidate, I think she just wants cash. She has no health insurance. Oh! what if something happens when she's working at my house or she gets really sick??

Kyle 返屋企到而家都未同佢落水,淨係同佢抹身洗面。佢老豆成日都話驚佢凍親! Nicholas 以前係隔日沖﹐即係一個星期沖3次到。而家執屋都差唔多搞掂,應該好快可以出黎同你飲茶,不過假期就唔出得,因我唔識開車,一定要我老公做私人司機。

If you pay the nanny cash, then she is technically not your employee. If something happens while she's at your house, you are not legally liable. To be on the save side, I suggest you purchase homeowner's insurance if you do not already have one. If she really gets hurt badly, then you can file a claim against your homeowner's insurance

I'm also 120lbs but Natalie is already 8 months old. You are doing very good becuz you only gave birth for 2 months. I need to get my act together to lose the remaining 10 lbs

It's so hard to lose weigh being a full-time mom cuz I just lay around and watch tv, play with bb, and eat eat eat.

如果公價USD1400, 咁都ok.. 至於insurance, 真係要小心, 好在有Natmama.. 如果佢病, 係唔可以俾佢返工, 至於點deduce 人工, 就同佢計清楚... 因為如果佢講足行規..佢今年都第十年, 佢應該知道唔會出足架啦... 出cash係唔駛同佢買醫療保險...正如Natmama講, 佢都唔係你嘅staff...
其實最緊要佢唔好係麻煩人, 上工前就乜都得, 上工後就要呢樣, 又唔做嗰樣, 咁就ok喇...

今日我哋去loews 揀tile裝入浴室嗰陣, Amanda俾一磈喺地下嘅broken tile cut咗手指公呀... 啲血滴滴滴...仲攪到食指同中指都係血, 啲staffs走咗嚟同Amanda止血同消毒, 而baba 飛出去front desk度揾band aid..雖然佢由頭到尾都冇喊過, 但係我個心好痛啊...我會記住2005年3月20日Amanda第一次'捐血' 係喺loews..仲係俾塊tile... 而家, 用tegaderm+guaze封住成隻手指...佢好炆熷呢...今晚佢8點都未到就瞓咗... 唉! 我又會成晚冇得瞓... 怕佢發惡夢.. 又怕佢發燒, 因為D tile始終好dirty呢...

How was the interview with the nanny?! Did you like her.?..Like Nillie said, some nannies will agree to everything when you interview her and turn bad once she's hired. With my previous nanny, we listed out all the chores she's expected to do and put the list on the refrigerator so she knows exactly what to do daily and weekly. The supply of nannies is really high so don't worry.

我個心真係好痛, 佢噚晚醒3次...晨早走去瞓, 終於瞓番12個半鐘, 佢先起身..但佢今朝係起身時喊....佢好耐冇咁樣架喇, 佢平時只會玩床上面個音樂盒...一玩我就知佢瞓醒, 換完片同食完奶奶就帶佢去叫爸爸起身... 今朝早佢喊得好淒涼 :-( :-( ......一見我就俾隻手指公我, 要我kiss番...好在傷口冇發炎, BB又冇燒....好好'采'
