我晌多倫多住左無耐, 生活就唔好講, 同香港就差得遠. 而且人工簡直天同地. 大家都知加拿大係"萬稅"國家, 樣樣都係稅, 所以除非有特別原因要返加拿大生活, 否則我認為晌香港工作同生活係絕對好過. 至於小朋友, 我個女學英文不知幾快速, 一個月就已經滿口英文. D中國仔而家唔會同你講中文啦, 佢地覺得講中文好樣衰, 而且近呢幾年, 呢度D國內移民又多, 佢地怕同你講國語, 都情願同你講英文, 一來顯示下佢地都識英文, 二來費事講家鄉話大家聽唔明,無謂!!

hi shanjun - i am still alive, just too busy with the summer - taking care with MIL. how about you? anything excited in the summer? guess you must be busy with your class - as parents used to send kid to summer class to occupy their summer holiday..

kellyanson - when people decide to migrate to other country, they may have to prepare to give up something.. - like the high pay job... but in return - better living environement.

yes the tax here is high, but since we are living here.. so no good but not bad....no luxury life, but just easy and relaxing...

well, my gallery is busy in summer, in fact, i spent 17 days in UK for the " world scout jamboree (a 40,000 scouts+adult camp)", i was a camp staff, working in art zone as a "wall paint" painter, a great experience and enjoyed!

Just to update you some news about Canada, we have strike at the city of Vancouver. The indoor and outdoor workers are under strike for a month and all public libraries, swimming pool and community centres in Vancouver city are closed. No one collect garbages for a month and all kids have no where to go! Lucky I am in Burnaby and nothing affected us so far.
On the other hand, Vacouver is named for the most livable city and that was the 5th years we got that.

There is good side about Canada - good environment and good welfare. Now I am having my maternity leave which is "paid" and up to 1 yr. No many countries in the world have it. Vancouver also named as the most livable country in the world for the past 5 yrs. In here, we can see the blue sky and breath fresh air. In HK, you have long working hours and people tend to enjoy to be the slave of money.

Regarding on english, kids can pick up very fast in English, but how good is their English is another issue. My neigbour's girl can commuinate English with my duaghter and her friends, but in reality, she doesn't understand English very well and she has very limited vacabulary.

我覺得香港加拿大兩地各有優勢﹐我兩邊都鐘意。

只係好遺憾﹗在加出生的華裔孩子都無心機學中文﹐最叻都係識聽識講﹐如果有得揀﹐應該讓孩子在香港打好中文基礎﹐到中學才到加拿大學英文就較理想。

i started my scouthood since age 12, now am almost 60,
it's fun and full of learning, learn to be a well human being, at least trained me as a good man, hee heeee...

my scout friend is moved to canada and settle down as your side, seems he and his family is so much enjoy there.

「山君」大女兒說廣東話最是純正，於學校中卻不和中國(包括香港)仔女溝通，理由是"他們"很壞，又郎郎"粗口"，把自己裝飾至不懂中文，卻又知曉"他們"說些什麼，唉，最後終於"嫁鬼佬"去了!

小女兒則有加國口音，能看中文報之簡單文字。

I am just enjoying myself with my new born son and busy to entertain my daughter. Yes, my daughter will start her kindergarten this year.

There is no perfect land and if anyone willing to accept simple life, then Canada is a good place. In fact, there is lots of rich people in Canada who really have good life. I dont mean Chinese as western people have very different life style. One dish in western restaurant is almost same price as the whole meal for 2 in Chinese restaurant, but there is still lots of people eating there.

I think it is not good to put the "hat" for Chinese people who speak Chinese. Today the news just release a survey about mixed race marriage and YVR has the highest ratio to accept it with 96%. May I ask you if you mind mix-race marriage?

i was once the girlguide when I was in secondary school, then join the DEA for few year. then other uniformed orgnization for another 9 years, quite after i got married.. but still miss those life to survive in the wild field, to cook with the prelim untensils.. camp fire.. sleeping under the sky... now just too old to do so...
