i was once the girlguide when I was in secondary school, then join the DEA for few year. then other uniformed orgnization for another 9 years, quite after i got married.. but still miss those lif ...

After a long struggleing, we finally got our citizenship last week. To those who are not going through the pointing system, it may have different meaning.

From we paid $$ to the immigration consultant to we got our waiver on interview, till we landed in 2003, it has been 8yrs of struggle. To my husband, it is the dream come true. To me and my children, it is a joy as we can feel a peaceful mind from daddy!

Just to remind those who got the residency but not yet citizen, our govt has made it very tough as below.

現行移民法下，永久居民未依規定在任何5 年時間內，在加拿大住滿2 年，將因此喪失移民資格

大家好,

一向知道西方教育是以人為本, 愉快學習, 但請問到了中學又如何呢? 很想知其實佢地何時才開始要埋身博命呢? 以我所知, 要突圍而出上一所好大學, 亦是競爭很大的!?

山君, 你住了加國那麼久, 你有什麼comment呢?

我計劃約兩年後到加國居住, 到時兒子會升上G6, 希望能用一年時間適應新環境, 再上中學, 大家又有什麼comment呢?

Regarding adapt to a new country, it really depends on your child's ability. From what I observe, people tend to fight at G12, but since more Asian influence, I guess the fight may start at begining of elementry.
By the way, univerity is not the only way to get a good job here. Personally I believe having a skill is more important than having a degree. In here many people get their degree when they were older when they are working or when they are more mature age.

大家好! 我不是加拿大公民, 但是我老公是取得公民身分之後回流香港, 跟我認識, 拍拖, 兒子5歲是在香港出世, 亦已替兒子在港的加拿大領事館取得加國的身分證, 現在的問題是:
我們夫婦打算2年後讓兒子回加國唸書, 可能一起回去, 也可能只是我陪兒子過去讀書, 但是聽說要是想讓子女報讀公立學校, 即享用加國免費教育的話, 就必須給加拿大政府繳付多年來在香港工作的所謂海外稅項, 因為老公在回流前都有在加拿大申請了非稅務居民(non resident tax purpose) 的身分....一旦冒險過去, 恐怕會惹上官非, 要繳回的稅金可能比唸私立學校的學費更多, 怕得不償失, 而且要是唸私立學校, 真的負擔不起

因此我真是不知該怎麼辦? 想請教一下各位, 不知道你們有沒有聽過類似的case, 或者有沒有人可以成功讓子女回去公立學校的呢? 難度真的只可以回去唸私校嗎? 請幫幫忙答覆一下可以嗎?

As far as I know, if your husband declared non resident status in order to save taxes, he shouldnt has problem to come back. Read more from the gov't web site.

(1)「山君」現居香港，
(2) 於國外讀書，需要學生本人"自動自覺"的，
(3) "埋身博命"在國外行不通，倘若需要"博命"，鼓勵"基礎穩固"，中低班時成績良好，高班時便可以啦，
(4) 所謂"競爭"，事實是"自我"的"個人內在競爭"而已!

I believe he needs to pay Canadian taxes once your son study here as this is not qualify for non-resident status.
