JJJmom,

Welcome to Canada! Living in suburb without a car is really a headache... how can you send your son to school without driving?

My daughter talks mostly in English now even though she only has gone to school for less than 2 months. She picks up a lot from the TV shows - Treehouse Channel 65.

well... I would suggest you don't claim the insurance for less than $500 because you will see the big increase once you claim the insurance...

you know, it's so easy to be charged for $300 to fix an even very small scratch ....

I hire a '白牌' to go there and I have to hire him for my son to shool from next week until I got my license. Really troublesome.

Hello JJJMon and PoohPoohma i also not get driver licence, so i will test written test first ,but in toronto if i haven't got
licence at Hk i will wait about eight Month can drive car, so i find school the first can use the bus, but now ok la because i choose the public school is opposite for my house so i only use walk in then ok la, i also want to know have any TV Program for my Kid (eg: channel 65) my son also 5 and 8 month tks :-P

agree with poohpoohmama, otherwise, your insurance premium will increase next year. i was lucky last time as it was not my fault and have witness, no increase in my insurance premium and got around $10000 cash + medical treatment, as i hire a accident lawyer to fight for me.

Although I have had driver license for long time, I don't drive frequently until now. Without a car here is very troublesome in Markham/Richmond Hill area...

JJJmom, may be later when you know some parents in your son's school and you can ask someone to give him a ride.

paklongmama, Treehouse (channel 65) is the best kids channel because there is no commercial and no violence cartoons. Depend on what kind of cable plan you have; there is a baby channel. But I wouldn't let my baby watch so much tv anyway...

any mom know where could I find the pokemon push toys?
i tried the toysrus and walmart yesteday, but could not find such, only the figure toy (the plastic mould) but not the soft toy... any clue???

I usually just get stuff from ebay if I cannot find them in the store.
Try searching "pokemon plush" in ebay, you will find a lot there.

i just fill in the high school application form. i chose mary ward. my daughter was a bit not happy as her best friends mostly choose francis liberman before, but after the open house of mary ward, most of them switch to MW. she was very happy now. i just hope that she would be taken as result in feb 2008 only.

woo, woo :...( both of my kids are sick again. I am sick too after taking the flu shot.

doggie, if you go back there this month, you would think the stuffs are cheaper because of the higher exchange rate.

Do anyone buy the Lagostina Pressure cooker from Can tire this week? It's $69.99 plus extra $10 off coupon. I like it very much. We spent too much recently... too many things are on sale...

ckkcwl, it will be a milestone for you and your daughter. Hope she will like the highschool life.

may be later, as not receive the confirmation for acceptance yet. need to wait until feb 08. will ask you question at that time, hopefully not too many la. there are 17 grade 8 in my daughter's school; and 10 choose MW and 6 choose francis libermann, 1 choose a school at northern part as will move there.
my daughter's best friends' parents prefer MW after the open house. they like the TA method and the close link betwen student and teacher + the frequent reports to parents (every 2 or 3 weeks - knowing the progress of the kid), also the MW's method of teaching. my daughter might choose food and nutrition & drama as the two optional subjects; and she said she will join the anime club as this is her favourite.
my husband will be back after christmas. i am blaming him already, can't come before x'mas.

. he said he is not really afraid that the immigration will not let him in, as the three of us are here. the worst is he just need to reapply for his status in canada again lor.

poor three of you. take care as you need to take care for the two kids too. are all of you sick because of the sudden cold weather. my younger one had been sick for weeks too when it suddenly turned cold for the first time.
i have not heard of the flu shot is ready for taking ?-( . i will sure take the flu shot.
i will not buy the slow cook pot as i still have the "tiger brand slow stew pot" - one of my wedding gift. cook with the inner pot the day before until boiled (then low heat for 10more min), put inside the outer pot, reheat in morning, put in the pot again. ready to eat for dinner

. i usually cook "old fire soup" in this way.
