I only know that there were 2 types, + (over) or - (under), neither of which is normal.

An easy test is, stretch your arms in front of you, and stretch out your fingers. If you don't have 手震 then its OK.
(but I think this is only a quick test for + cases).

RMM,
Did the doc say, if after 1y+ the condition is the same then an op is needed ?
And you wake up for a few hours can't go back to sleep ? superfast heartbeat ? Any sudden fits of temper ? (you will definitely be aware of this cos you are so good-tempered)

I had thyroid cyst / nodule ~25y ago, that was just a water bubble attached to outside of thyroid gland, taking thyroxine for 1y made no effect, finally had an op and got a zip around my throat cos the doc looked at both sides to ensure no cyst on the other side. The water-cyst was as big as half an egg. But before op, didn't know exactly what it was. Didn't know cause. No need to do anything till now.

One of my collegues also needs to take thyroxine. She easily gets tired and has to take a nap during lunch time.

I only noticed these after I was diagnosed gap+ ah. Though I am good tempered, I am fast paced also, everything rush rush is my weakness.

There are 3 ways for gap +, 1) eat medicine for 1.5 years, if not turning better, 2) need to drink something 接受放射碘 (need to isolate with other for 2 weeks) and after 1-2 try if gap+ again then 3)take operation and need take 1 pill every day.

My mom had 接受放射碘 years ago and she still need to take 1 pill every day. My son's case is different, he is 先天性甲状腺undeveloped, basically he has no thyroid gland and that he has to take 1 pill everyday.

So serious!!!! The best cure is to relax & take things easy. Can you take some time off & go for a trip?

Has Rachel finished her tests? Will Rachel take part in the Music Festival this time? Which grade will she play? My son's teacher told me today to drop the festival

I know my son doesn't have much talent in piano. I never ask my son to do that. It's she who suggested it! I only want my son to learn how to appreciate music at the very least!

R also need to take thyroxine every day cause he's Gap-. He was diagnosed to be Gap- during a routine check up after taking Bone Marrow Transplant. The doctors said they don't know the causes, maybe or may not be the Chemotherapy when doing the BMT. I've asked whether or not he need to take it for lifelong, the doctors then replied they don't know, but seldom have the case that it will be back to normal. Anyway, a little pill is better than his hereditary illness before.

Seems nowadays many ppl have Gap+ as I've saw some threads in other forums talked about it.

Think of taking 1-2 months leave but it's my slack season now until Jan 2009, so better enjoy it. Will try to relax when my project is on again next Sep.

Rachel has finished the test yesterday. She did her own revision this time. So no stress for me. She will participate in the coming Music Festival, she has chosen Gr. 3 The Doll's Dream. She has also participated in the Speech Festival, Cantonese and English solo verse speaking which will be hold next week and 1st week of Decemeber. The school teachers have provided her with the training

Do you need to bring R for routine check now? In public hospital? Will R be tired easily? Somehow I think Jun doesn't like much exercises or "moving" activity due to gap- eventhough he is taking pill daily. He feels tired easily.

I saw him in Venetian and he was so active and energetic...

Why did he need to do the transplantation gei? Hope everything's alright.
