He already gets to open 1 hole in 2006 city advent calendar a day for doing homework (at least starting and doing much of it before I return home), but still nothing before I get back.
Still dares to ask me for his minifig Lego from advent calendar despite not doing his homework.
As if I need to reward him for not doing anything !
Maybe putting a box of (big) Lego set in front of him a day will do, but then he will need to spare lots of time for building the sets !

Neither reward nor punishment works on piglet.
Needs a school teacher at home (not me).

just invite me to your home and I pretend to be his teacher (my appearance should be serious enough (esp. I wear glasses now) to make him finish all the revision within a day)

BTW, Brickshop is offering HK$538 for Castle Advent + City Calendar, is it a new offer ??

We'll kick off the new Lego set this weekend, Advent Calendar, PoliceHQ, Airport, Beach house, Ferris Wheel, Town Plan, Cafe Corner...really difficult to make up the mind to start with which one 1st ? But I have promised Rachel before the test. Also, she will do her own revision for her Jan exams at the time I need to go to work when she's having her x'mas holidays, then x'mas party and Lego day again on 25, 26 Dec.......

and my revision for her on 27, 28 and 1 Jan.

International Shopping News Update

Singapore Lego

I plan to place the order next Monday, after I've asked my Sing cousin for home address so that the order can be delivered (free) to home first and I don't need to collect from shop.

US Lego, thru ToysRUs.com and/or Lego.com

I plan to order "Brickmaster 1 yr subscription" for piglet, = 1 set every 2 months x 6 times. But since I cannot have them delivered to my SF aunt, I'll use the services of OneNow.com as delivery address, then ask OneNow to send back to HK. So can buy anything from the US internet shops, to match timing with these Brickmaster sets, eg Gap, Target. Macys.

Wants are unlimited, but $$$ is limited !!! Too bad !

(I think OneNow.com is OK. I haven't bought from them before, actually I tried to order some things from Macys but they haven't sorted out their commercial arrangements with Macys and I couldn't order. But ppl from OneNow have been v helpful, I talked to them via their online chat service and they could answer me quite well. This OneNow is Sing-based, and one can buy a lot of things in US using its services.)

Need to do some accounting related work for the office now, which I hate !! :tongue: Will be v busy for at least 1 more week.

And Rachel will keep her promise to revise, not like piglet !

1-day is not enough for piglet. His head is v thick, only filled with Lego, nothing else : no Chin characters, Engl words, Maths. GS is only slightly better cos he likes the subject.

Castle + City Advent Calendar HK$539 for both is BShop's Nov px. But should be cheaper from Sing shop, ~HK$400 for the 2 sets.

Do take a look at what's available there, esp the sale items are all cheaper than HK. Ask your hubby if he wants the 10144 - SW Sandcrawler, only S$200. (But now on sale in Lego.com, US$100, before adding delivery costs.)

Tks buddies for the encouragement! Actually I don't mind Kv getting a "wrong" answer if he has grounds.

Nov/Dec is the usual exam month, seems all of us are driving busy (crazy too?!) these days!!

Kv will have final assessment of 1st term right after Christmas & New Year holiday. Actually not much time to relax....... have to wait till Lunar New Year to set free!!

I find the chin standard of primary school nowadays is higher than our times in the old days!! Better keep doing exercises and reading chin readers to keep up with the standards..... actually I always need to refer to the dictionary for correct writing of chinese words!

I trust girls are more disciplined than boys .... just wonder if Kv will study on his own during holidays while I'm at work!!

Just remember some funny things of Kv (happened in P1) told by his math teacher 2 weeks ago.

Once the teacher asked the class what had been taught in the lesson. Actually the teacher expected the answer to be "Addition" or "Subtraction" something like that. However, Kv answered that "Text Book 1C Chapter XX page xx to xx was taught in the lesson". The text book was put away at that time..... and the chapter number and page number were correct!

The teacher said she couldn't help laughing at that time and can still remember till now.

So the more you order the less the average charge on postage.
So I have to think of diff things to buy from US every 2 months, eg Gap, Macys, ToysRUs, Lego ...

In the case of those shops which do not accept credit cards issued in other countries, they also have payment service, charge 5% on cost of goods.
So if you have something you want a lot, can buy using this website, lots cheaper than buying an air ticket (or 2 or 3 if you need to go with kid + hubby.)
