The letter is one of the items required by the Indo Consulate if employer decides to renew DH contract with Indo DH, without going through an employment agent.
It has nothing to do with HK Imm Dept.

Only those document(s) which the Indo Consulate require to be notarized need to be notarized by a lawyer.

Hey, is it mean I must to make application both with ID & Indo Con at the same time.
You need to make an appiontment with Indo Consulate 1 month before contract expiry, and attend an "interview" with consulate staff a few days later.
Then a few more days later, the Indo Consulate will return the documents to you.
You can then take everything plus the HK Imm Dept forms and go straight to the HK Imm Dept, no need to make prior appointment here but everyting must be completed and ready. Need to wait a few hours (less than 2 hours in my case, Oct 2003) at the Imm Dept before you get back the Indo DH's passport WITH a valid DH working visa for the renewed contract term.
I want to renew the contract with my Indo maid through my old agent, but my maid said that it's so expensive for her. Do you know how much in average it cost for her and me ? I just want to know whether my agent is expensive. I have no idea about agency fees. My agent asked for $3000 from me and my maid for contract renewal. Some other BK mummies have found cheaper agents. If your agent did not keep your Indo maid's passport and you have the current DH contract, you can use another agent anytime.
And I've heard a friend said that we need to give a medical check certificate when renewal contract, so we need to pay in addition a few hundred for this cost, do you have any idea on it?

-- You need BOTH (1) a lab test report AND (2) a doc's letter certifying that DH is fit for work. Need to pay $$$for both.
