I am totally dispointed with the 聖公會 central school. Actually, I was brought up by SKH and I attend church in SKH. But this school give me very bad impression.
I attended the interview this morning at around 9:00 am but the teacher is NOT OK. A little bit 串, I'm in the top floor with two senior teachers (in terms of age). When I played with my daughter, the teacher came and asked her what's her name. My daughter of course with no response when she was concentrating with her toys. I asked my daughter in English "What's your name?" again. This is what I usually do at home coz I always talk to her in English.
The teacher seems not very happy and asked who take care of my daughter at home. I replied my indo maid. I explained to her why I'm speaking English with my daughter and the teacher asked me "Do you know that this school is using Chinese as its media of teaching?" Stupid question! Of course I know. I only afraid my daughter won't catch up English when she attend school. Cantonese is not a problem when you lived and study in HK. I have did some research with my friends, relatives and colleagues, most of their kids were brought up by Philip maid and can speak better English and Cantonse than whose kids brought up with Indo maid.
This teacher is a little bit rude and not helpful at all. From my experience:
- poor management (obtain application form in person from school on one fixed day)
- waste of my time on queing and form filing at school
- old decor and not enough toys
- stubborn
- not informative and transparent
I have discussed with my husband and will fade out this school from my preference list.

Yes. The toys on the tables are not attractive and my girl even not take a look and head to the books and caryons.
Any feeling about this school? BTW, why don't you put your daughter to international school such as Victoria?

Well, the school seems old. They really do not tried to show the parents how they teach.
International school? I'm sorry to say this but a lot of these so called international school only has a name, they have western teachers but how many of them really qualify ? By charging double/triple school fee , have great marketing is just business . Most of the kids I've seen coming out from IS does not have discipline & not much respect for others. This is something my husband & myself believed in.
I've no worries of my girl speak / write English. I graduted from a Chinese Secondery School myself. Also would like little one to speak, read & write chinese.

Guess they expect parents to do all the homework beforehand. Did you try to "interview" those teachers? I believe in good communication/expectation between school and parents.
"Also would like little one to speak, read & write chinese."
Yeah, I think so too. I wanna to let my kid going to Mandarin/English speaking school. But hardly can find one in the neighborhood.

goodynews817,
Well, I called in Sept. and asked if we can go to visit the school they told me they do not allow visitors. There was a open day but not in the one in Central. I did not go to that open day beause I'm only interested in the Kindagarden in Central.
I expected the interview to be one to one. When the classroom filled with other parents & kids as well, it's kind of hard to kept talking or asking question to the teacher. I've asked a few questions but it was really brief. Because she seems very interested to my little one so i did not disturb them too much.
Which school your little one is going to now. I thought your daughter is about the same age of mine? Which other school your are considering?
