Just got violin exam results (G2) of Kv : Pass with Merit.

He's quite good in Scales and Aural but a bit weak in sight-reading.

Any buddies have ways to improve the sight-reading skills pls?

Bought 大富翁新世代電子版 last Sat at Aberdeen Toysrus.

Unlike the traditional one, no toy money notes required. All monies are saved in Monopoly cards.

Congratulations. Kv is so smart a kid. Strong and competent in diverse areas.

Weak in Sight-reading is common among small kids. Their memories are so good. They do not need to play by sight reading.

Does Kv still learn piano now? Can he find the time for practicing 2 instruments?

Tks! Actually Kv's result is not really v good this time .... btw he can still meet our expectation and no surprise!

Yes, he learns both instrument at the same time.... seems he is inclined to violin more judging by the time he spent on practising.

我姨甥女出年升中，現在聖彼得就讀，考試成績不錯 (全班第三/全級第七)，考慮報讀英華女校或聖士提反女校。

The lego 2008 catalogue is out (so late in Dec for the 2008 one). I took 2 at Sogo yesterday.

I can understand now why piglet is so concentrate on the catalogue, Jun did the same last night, freezed and kept talking to himself for more than half an hour.

I graduated from YWGS n years ago. Don't really know how it's doing now. But heard from a client of mine who moved from KLN side to mid levels because they were so fond of this school (they did have some research on it before they decided). My old classmate is now teaching science at SGCC (been there for many years). I may see her during weekend & can ask for u. I think she is best to compare both schools.

Good to see u tonight. Did Kevin like the show? I think it's quite hard for a 7yo to comprehend what's going on, esp. my son who doesn't know what is "Y" etc.... Don't be mistaken - the 2 boys sitting next to me are not my son but his classmates. My son sat one row behind me with his friend. We were splitted up into 3 rows!

I have bidded a set of Reading 123 (40 new books) from ebay Taiwan for NT2600 (about HK$640) and my colleague will bring them to me after xmas! About 50% cheaper than Kinghorn!

Nice to meet you too!

Be honest, Kv said the show was boring at the beginning, but later he found it's OK! Actually he gets used to the PIP styled drama and so he doesn't really like that slow pace type.

Re: YWGS, me too (so do GN4 and AM) !! I guess you may be my see-mui.

I hv never thought that we've got an alumni of buddies in this forum

I also don't know what's up with YWGS now.... but I think it's a good Band 1 girls' school among others.

Would you pls ask your friend for the comment then. Thanks!

聖士提反女校 --- according to my friends who have kids there, there is little homework pressure. In fact they seem to be able to finish most homework at school. Academically, there are lots of projects, few tests and dictations. Kids are very happy.

Kv has just lost his Octopus card in the science camp this afternoon.

When he reported the case to me, he said that the Octopus should have NO VALUE in it cos he helped other classmates (whom he met for the first time and he even didn't know some of their names) to "doo" drinks and snacks!! And he didn't know why the octopus card was missing.....

I'm happy that he is sooo....generous but it seems he can't take care of his belongings!!! Lucky that I only put $50 to this card yesterday and this card does not have automatic add value!!

Kevin is very generous indeed

. My son also lost his Octopus card once. Like u, I didn't arrange automatic top-up cos I was scared he would lose his card. Sorry I didn't see my friend on Sat. Will ask her about St Stephen Girls next week. I don't think u can be my "elder" schoolmate at YWGS, but still, great to know YWGS has made very good quality mums here

Kv is fully occupied in Chirstmas holidays with science camp/O-math workshop/Jim Chim's children christmas show/church activities/hiking/movies/football match (boys vs grils)....

Yet still got to squeeze time for lego and study!!
