Nice to hear from you. I am still trying to find out how to leave message and reply in this forum.
I am living in Setia Eco Park, which is about 25 mins drive to Damasara. I love your area because it is more convenient. Yes, I have contacted a few agents, but recently many companies in Penang cut down in employing expatiates. The rental already dropped from RM3500 to RM 2200 still difficult to rent out.
I think it is really a good idea to go out during non-peak hours.
I can drive to the nearby supermarket now which is good enough for me to buy daily food. But I really want to learn how to drive to the Curve and I Utama soon so that I can have more to do!
Have you considered getting an interactive map, something like google map? We were down in KL 2 weeks ago and having the google map was very handy, as we could see where our car was heading, it not only found our destination but also plotted the route for us to take. Normally it would take us over an hour to get home from 1utama, but with the map it took us less than 30mins that time (of course I also found out my hubby had been taking a long way to go home and got ourselves stuck in the traffic jam, haha)

That is very helpful suggestion. Actually GPS is good but there are some locations which are not covered in the GPS. Map probably is more detailed though!

Malaysia might be a developing country but I don't think you will experience a lot of culture shock as compared to other third world countries. I am sure you will settle down quite well.
I am actually surfing the net with my phone because my computer broke down. *sob* *sob* A word of advice to all: please back up your hard drive on another hard drive!

Yes, before I moved to Malaysia, I was working in Sing Tao (Chinese newspaper). I sent out self-recommandations letters to a few press when I came to Malaysia and Nanyang Siang Pau offered me a job in their marketing and business development Dept. I needed to apply for working permit during those times.
