Hi guys,
I am back.... It has been a very busy month after moving to HK. We haven't settled down everything yet but getting there. My computer broke down and just bought a new one. so, I can come here now but still haven't installed the Chinese typing yet. hopefully very soon.
Hay, I just applied a primary school for my son. So, things are getting settled more and more. The older two are at kindy now.
I will come here more often as long as I have free time. Hope not to leave me behind guys....hahaha..
so, how was the BBQ at Ruby's place? Any photos I can look at?
ABCD,
I submitted the application form to 香港教育學院賽馬會小學 this afternoon. My husband and I totally visited 3 schools only (1. Sai Kung Sung Tsen Primary School, 2. Baptist University Wong Kam Fai primary school at Ma On Shan, and 3. 香港教育學院賽馬會小學). We both like 2 & 3 better.
Since 香港教育學院賽馬會小學 is a government school so, we had to submit the application form today (the last day of submission). The school is pretty new and the principal is very friendly and helpful. I like the idea that the class size is small (23 students per class) and the teaching style is very much like those in NZ but most of them in Chinese. I was told that not much homeworks.
Also, we applied Baptist University Wong Kam Fai primary school at Ma On Shan as well. This is DSS school, so my son is going to have an interview tomorrow. I don't know what to prepare for the interview, so we will just take him there and we have told him it will be a school visit. So, no one is nervous ...hahaa..
If both of them offer us a seat, then we will think about this issue more seriously.
HPChingchingma ,
We are also not planning for the kids to study secondary school in HK, but we think it is good for them to learn Chinese in HK when they are still young enough to learn languages. Hope that he will be accepted by a good school. Later I need to think about if he should go to the second round "lucky draw" by EMB. Firstly we will see if he will be accepted by the above two or not .
vv123,
oic...what ashame! Anyway, I also hope that we can settle things very soon, then I can have a regular lifestyle. We have to work on so many things everyday, sometimes very rush!
Hope you and your family will have a very smooth move to Aussie.
