I just migrate to AUS for 3 months, the children care fee for next year is AUD$ 275/wk (5 days/wk), if you not go to child care for whole week e.g. 3 days/wk, they will charge you daily fee basis i.e. AUD$ 61/day.
The child care centre here is different from HK, they usually not teach things intentionally, they just let children drawing, printing, story telling, singing and dancing, playing in the sand pit or water pit, etc.....
The quality of child care centre is various, you can go and have a tour before you choose one, the vacancy of child care centre is another important issue, when I came to Mel. in August, I have phone to all child care centre within Box Hill, they all told me "no vacant", so sometimes is not easy to find a vacant if the region have many children.

Usually, the private school will have programme from nursery to year 12, however, it's very expensive, ~AUD$9000+/year in nursery, the fee will gradually increase to ~AUD$17000/year in year 12, most of them need to put deposit ~AUD$10000, you may get half back if your child finish year 12, if not, all belongs to the school, there's also have a lot of fees to pay besides school fee......
For the state school or school with religion background, I think they have no programme from nursery to year 12, usually, the child here go to child care centre until they reach age 5 which is the age to study prep (same as kindergarden in HK), then at age 6, they will go to primary school that is year 1.

One thing I want to remind all mamas is that: the cutting time for school is 30th April each year, not like HK is Sept. each year.
e.g. like my daughter, she is born in June 2003, so she have to study prep in Jan 2009(nearly age 6) because her 5th birthday is after 30th April in 2008, so she have to stay in child care centre for 6 months more till January.

Hi, all busy mums!

I just feel so amazed so much messages have been posted for 2 days and really can't work out who is who. I hope can have a better memory!

Heard from the forum we will have more mums coming to Melbourne.

Recently, I am doing a AMES - Citzenship programme and want to become a citzen next month. Busy working on the course, doing distance learning is not easy, because all the work has to be done and send them back to the tutor. Also I am registered student with AMES and doing some basic English course. I am just wondering is anybody done this course?

GOOD MORNING各位媽咪靚太!!

幾日無上泥因為去左大陸(廣東省)玩幾日. :lol: 講起大陸d洗手間真真唔掂,又臭又不衛生.人的服務態度也沒有大進步,空氣就同HK差唔多,真是貼錢買難受.不過勝在可以放下煙花同浸下溫泉,叫做補返數啦!

多謝各位關心,已經無咩事啦,可能上機前一晚朋友買左d"佬水鵝"有d問題,加上自己緊張,通宵無訓,身子弱腸胃差姐.
呢2日好忙咁去執野,但見到d一箱二箱就唔想執,之前咩都旨意賓賓姐姐,依家搵少少野都搵唔到. :-( :-(
黎左3日,日日都出box hill center,去買晚上既餸,來來回回,仔女接送下,咁就一日,過得好快但又唔知做左咩,只知d野真係好貴,好在大部分日用野我都有帶來.
你地如果pack野過來,真係要仔細d,好多日常用品呢度又貴又唔靚,好似我無pack個細女用既"鄧仔",係就想買返一樣都好難,又貴又薄膠,我企實爛.你地買多d毛巾啦,kitchen用具啦,細如掛毛巾鈎都唔好漏呀,呢度好多野都有得賣,但係hk幾倍價錢,最抵都係牛奶同牛油,仲有雞(上,中,下脾),都比hk平.
