Just got Kv's report card of 2nd term this morning.

Result is unexpectedly satisfactory. He got several school awards:
1. 優異生獎
2. 全級數學科成績最佳獎
3. 數學比賽全年優勝獎

Here's the written comment:
好學不倦，有上進心
埋頭苦幹，學有恆心
中文理解力強，勇於發表意見，但要注意字體的筆畫及筆順
數學科愛思考，運算及解難能力高
常識豐富，富想像力
Has shown lots of interest in writing! Very impressive!

There was 3 yesterday but all gone by the time I reached the shop. I arrived there 2 mins before closing. All shops closed sharp at 6pm today, even the restaurant in my hotel closed (how can hotel restaurant close on weekends?!). I'm kinda lucky, there's still a McDonald & 1 Thai restaurant in service nearby...

Seems that there are lots of extinct sets in other parts of the world, which are now rare and $$$$$ in HK. One of the sellers on yahoo is an air hostess who grabs such sale items then sell in HK or BrickLink at high px.

Wow !

For piglet's report, we just had a chance to look at the "draft", and the t's said he was attentive in class etc but all bs. Even piglet himself said he often yawns and daydream. Maybe just to brush us up / supply a beautifully painted report as it is a valuable instrument for F1 allocation later.

Congratulations to Kv's results. Very detailed report from school! Your investment in books pays off! Kv has potential for OM!!!! Is he taking the course in summer? If the centre is nearer home, I will send my boy too!

JSM,

Yes, the report card is very detailed and shows overall comment on student himself and his performance on individual subject(chin/eng/math/GS) respectively.

Kv's class teacher commented that he is gifted in Math. He will join school's OM course next school year. May also consider HKMOS course too as they seems to be more professional.

Kv will go for a 3D2N camp at the Hong Kong Shaolin Wushu Culture Centre in Tai O tomorrow.

It may be a hard time for him cos only vegetarian meals are served and no snacks/TV/books/electronic game/card games allowed in the centre.

Besides, no phone calls allowed outside definite time (8:45-10pm), otherwise the mobile phone will be taken away.

Participants are also required to prepare their own bed incl fixing the bedsheets, blanket and
pillow for themselves.

There will be 武術課 conducted by monks who speak PTH and they need to attend 禪修 too.

Seems interesting ... I wanna join too!

I met Kv and Wxx last Sat at the lift lobby of ACL. Dropping the cheque for next school term after discussion with Rachel. She is keen to continue attending the class, however, we have not yet got the result from APA and Brownies, just see if she can manage it when she needs to attend all of these activities la.

OIC. If Rachel has great interest in all these classes, I turst she can manage it by herself gar.

I enrolled Kv to 4 camps this summer.

Next week will be another 3D2N military camp at Wong Yee Chau.

Wow, you are so resourceful on the camps! I didn't know any of them. Please share with us next time. The only camp I wanted to send my son is cancelled because of the swine flu. So we don't have any camp this year, just day activities, kind of boring & lots of commuting for us!!!!

Yes sure!

As I do not intend to fly in this summer and I believe kids (esp boys) have to take some solid training and honing to 磨練一下意志, hence I enrolled several camps of diff topics for Kv incl Kungfu, military, critical thinking, self development etc.

Actually I almost enrolled Kv to a 5D4N military camp organised by Gideon (recommended by Kv's class teacher), but later I thought the time seems too long so I switched to other camp with fewer days. May consider Gideon again next summer.

I'm interested in Outward Bound Teenage Explorer and Kidz Camps too. Most probably will join next year.

Had thought of Outward Bound for piglet but then he had to do the op so I dropped the idea. Sandycat is also interested ga. Maybe the boys can join next summer. They have Easter camps as well but I think summerr would be better timing wise. I think the kids camps are up to 11y.

Do you remember what % discount Reading Ppl gave us last yr ? I forgot. If its better or equal to Cite and they deliver, then I will wait for BkFair. Found some TW books which I think you'll (KL, GN4, RMM....) will all be interested (for the older kids), but I don't want to alert the snakes.

I remember the discount of Readers bookshop was around 20-25% off. Sets (e.g. reading 123) were even cheaper.

Cite should be the cheapest as they now offer 35% off for purchase of >=10 books.

Which good chin books you found? Pls PM me la....

Kv took Kwix Math for a year when he was in K3.

He has been taking Kumox since Nov last year and I let him try Enopx 2 months ago.

Will switch to OM in P3.
