If you read the news about class boycott, you'll know that they have classes 10am-6pm everyday of this week (except Monday) that cover various civic education topics. They might not be going to their designated classrooms to take their scheduled classes, but they're definitely learning about something valuable in life.
HK is home for a lot of these kids, a place where they build their career and families in the future. Shouldn't they have an opportunity to learn to care about their society, and a voice in how they want their future home to be?
紅衞兵 and students joining this class boycott are two different concepts. There isn't a chairman Mao in 2014 to manipulate these kids. Students are the organizers of the boycott and i don't think they want their parents or teachers killed or persecuted.
