Final Attempt?

A Very Good Try, Zenia!

Indeed, both the Chinese and the Jews are good at "Applying" Maths - and see if they can get $10 by paying $5!!

(And while we're in Britain, I read an article in a newspaper, reporting that there were about 250 patients' health were compromised Every Year, due to the Nurses' Miscalculations of the Doseage!! See, NOT every one is good at maths!)

But, sorry this was NOT what I had in mind at the time.

Any never give up parents out there would like to have a Final Attempt?

Four Things In Common

Dear All Relaxing UK Parents

I've found Four Things in Common Between the Jews and us, the Chinese.

1) Put Huge Emphasis on Education;
(Will move to anywhere that has a Good School!)

2) Men is the Head of a Family;

(Back in 2001, I read a local newspaper in UK, reporting some Jewish Women still need a "Divorce Permit" from their Husbands before they could "Re-marry" with another man)

3) Use "Moon" as the Base to formate a Calendar;

(As far as I could remember, we are the ONLY two races using this approach, as the Rest of the world using the "Sun")

and

4) Has a Very Tough Past History (Never Ending Wars in China and the Jews had been forced to be Slaves)

But, there are Two Things that, us the Chinese are very much Different from the Jews, and which we can Benefit from learning from the Jews.

Does any parent would like to guess what the Two Things are?

Trust that the recent Obstruction caused by the Truck Drivers on the Highways, protesting High Petrol Price had NOT caused you too much Inconvenience, nor the recent flooding in certain parts of Britain.

The Second Thing us, the Chinese, can learn from the Jews is :

Persistence.

Most Jews I'd come across in UK were Very Determined.Their Fighting Spirit was Amusing. They would NOT stop until they Drop! They NVEVER give up!

So, if one of your Enemies is a Jew, I wish you the Best of Luck!

But then again, if a Jew sees you as their True Friend, you'll be shocked by the Generosity of some of them.

I rememeber reading a HK newspaper (www.on.cc) about 2 months ago, reporting a Jewish elderly woman died in Britain, giving More than10 Million Sterling Pounds worth of assests to, NOT her relatives, but a Chinese couple that used to lease her shop for running a Chinese Takeaway!!

Hi Fate,

Please tell me more about Jews. I am quite interested in it because I got some Jews customers before. Their memory is incredible. Moreover, most of them continue to fast once a week. Their family mind is very strong. One of my clients insisted to fly back and forth on the same day in order not to let his wife sleep alone at night. I also heard that there is some stories behind their hats. It's so mystical to me.

i find this an interesting and inspiring thread. Fate is like a kind grandpa(hope u dont mind but thats really my impression.) sharing life experiences and wisedom, esp about parenting. i only visited uk twice, both for short holiday, so i dont really have any relevant memories for sharing. just want to say hi and thank u. really appreciating ur generosity with time and energy in keeping this. not many r willing or able to do what u r doing, at least me for one cant. selfishly i hope this thread can last as i take it as my free "chicken soup to a parent's soul". its my good luck to meet such a generous and wise dad here sharing his perspective as a parent. more than often one would only run into mums here. my husband is a very good dad(much better than me as a mum)but i would b very shocked if he ever runs a similar thread like this or even shares his parenting experiences with another parent. i have 2 kids(8 yr+ 5yr) and live in hk. looking forward to more good sharings. cheers.

Just Back

Dear Quietly Reading & Openly Responding Parents

Our family just back from our 6-day Gold Coast (Australia) Holiday.

It's very nice to have met up with another Australian BK Parent, ALAU. Her 1-year-old boy is so Cute & her husband is so Generous - giving us Two Free Yam Chai, one in Gold Coast, the other one in Brisbane while on our way to Sunshine Coast.

Yes, the Lau's family followed us all the way to Sunshine Coast, staying at Pelican Waters and it's only Fair that we gave them back some Free meals!

Since we've been away from our home for a while, we've to catch up with all these letters, calls, E Mails, bills etc. (and washing!), I've to come back & respond at a later time.

Enjoy Happy Time with your children.

Never Easy to Be A Mum

Hi hua-mama

It's never easy to be a Mum, especially a Responsible Mum - and most Mums visiting this website are trying their best to be one.

I'm just trying my best to share with other parents from my personal experiences, so that others could prepare themselves and/or their children better for the Numerous Disappointments, Frustrations etc. ahead.

It's so nice to hear you've found something useful from my thread, though it could be another 25 years before I could be a Gradnpa!

Everyone is Different and therefore everyone do things Differently. I suppose your husband could be one of those quietly working hard behind the scenes and you may be surprised he may actually good at many things.

He must have something Special that caught your eyes - and do NOT let that Special Feelings fading away - Marriage is just another stage of Life and NOT the End of Romance!

It's never easy to be a Woman from the start, let alone to be a Responsible Mum - and do take sometime off and Enjoy Life.

At first I don't know they all are BALD under the hat. ar...one more thing, their wives are also BALD as far as I heard. Is it true?

I'm NOT sure if the Jewish men & women are Bald under their hats - I never dared to ask!

(Funny it may seem, I was NOT curious at the time)

But, if I remember correctly, those with Long Hat, with Long Hairbands, wearing Long Black clothings etc. are Very Traditional Jews.

Are you curious about why I knew I was to fail my First Driving Test in UK, even before me entering the Driving Test Centre?

Our boys's school is in Pelican Waters in Australia, has a 3-week school holiday, starting from 23 June. And our boys are to return school next week.
