May I ask if 3D/2N is enough if I am flying TG? I checked the flight schedule that TG flies at around 11pm and then I fly back home late in the evening say 7pm?
I am not bringing my 2.5 year old kid so I don't want to leave her too long.
I don't intend to go for watersports or to the islands as those are not my cups of tea, rather I just want to do some shopping, spa and eat.
For spa, I would like to go to Banyan tree, or do you think Sheraton's is good too? ( I plan to stay at Sheraton as it's cheaper than Banyan)
1) If we go with kid (around 3 yrs old), which hotel at the Laguna Phuket is the best choice for us? What's the different among these 5 hotels? I prefer Sheraton or Laguna Beach. Is it nice?
2) I also heard that Holiday Inn is good for family, is it right?
3) What's the weather in end Nov?
4) How long does the speed boat take to PP Island or Egg Island? Is it safe to a kid? I heard it's so <dun>.
I will go by myself for 5 days. Take TG, arrive at Phuket at 1340, back to HK at 1310 flight from Phuket. Will book a car. My daughter is Aged 5 will go with us.
Plan to go Island Safari, but for Island Khai (Egg) & Raya, which one is better?

u better check again the flight by TG, is that direct flight to/from? Normally TG have direct flight from HK to Phuket, but back trip must via Bangkok, maybe they have special route in summer.
Too short u stays in phuket, just 2 days ..........
day 1 : just sleep over.
day 2 : After Abf u can take the angsana spa (same team as Banyan tree) in Sheraton spa centre, it's more cheaper but in same standard, Mainly, u must book advance, it's always full. Refresh..........
Then take a tuktuk to Patong and enjoy night life, such as thai boxing, lady boy, agogo girls, all in one long street in the centre of Patong. Sea food? Italy?
japaness? as u like, many many choose over there,
have fun........
day 3 : Shopping day......... Take a tuk tuk to Big C,
Lotus superstore, u can get all kind of thai's products,
food, clothes, spa units, ceramics, many souvenir
.... then go to Phuket town walk around to smell the local people life. also u can shopping there, must bargain......50% off. Back home
u really hush travel cos' only 3/2nights. not....enough.

what the details of these 5 hotels, by the way, study phuket in here is a good way.
2.Holiday inn is good because of it's nestle in the centre of Patong, it is more convenience for eat and shopping if u don't mind it crowd and noisy.
3. Oct - April is the best time to travel in Phuket but also it's in high season, many tourist. I always come to Phuket on May and Oct. Weather is good for water sports.
4. from Phuket chalong pier to egg island by speed boat just take 15 mins. But to PP island msut take big boat (like mini ferry) about 1-1 1/2 hrs, depend on what type of boat, I'm not recommend to use speed boat to PP island, u will get sea sick after that,
yes, really 'dun' and danger.

oh TG get the special route at summer vacation, that's great. Good time too.
Khai island is more better eventhough it's quite popular for HK tourist, cause Raya island is more far and Khai's water more clear, many many crown fishes, your daughter will be very happy, remember bring more bread (from ABF ), DC and sunblock lotion, cap.

Actually, there not expensive compare of HK but thailand, if u have time and car, why don't go throught phuket and stop any restaurant that u feel that good location and feel cool.........
After reply so many times for Phuket topics, I really want to go there immediately, girls, u know Phuket's
local food... salad..sticky rice.. teunran, mango, bbq pork. curry crab.....so many, yummy......I can't stop my mouth water come out..........

Rent a car or van in Phuket :
1. mostly the car in manual and use 右軚, the regulations all same as HK, but parking they have
single day(at right side) and even day(at left side) different. By the way,u just follow the parked car park which side or the sign of parking.
It is easy to drive in Phuket, u better drive by own cause u have a big group.

Can I hire the speed boat to go to the "egg Island" instead of join the tour, so I have more flexibility to plan in my trip. Your message to 小BMom say that it is "danger" to take the speed boat, you means to PP Island or Egg Island or both. Since my daughter is only 6 years old, if it is danger, I will give up to to go "Egg Island".
When I go to Bangkok, I will hire a car for my trip via my travel agent, can I do the same in Pukut, because I learned from the guide book that to hire the car in Puket is cheaper, any information from your end? When I book the car in Bangkok, it is about HK$800.00 a day.

Sorry I didn't hire a speed boat to Khai island privately, but I think there'll quite expensive.
Speed boat to Khai island just 15mins, it's safe and comfort (finally depand on weather). But to PP island is quite far from Phuket. And there'll strong current in july & August, I've been there on 2x August 2001 together with 10 members (7adult4kids), I sware I'll never go to PP island again in summer hoilday. It took us 3 1/2 hrs (normally 1.5hrs) and bad memerial, I thought that we can't reach our destination as well. Thanks god! Finally we landed!
PP island is beautifull u must to go but only in good weather condition. (Oct - May) is the best visit time.
I haven't hire a car in Bangkok, wow, it's so expensive. At Phuket, we always hire a jeep(1,300cc) only in Baht 600 (HK120) per day. include insurance and send the car directly to your hotel.And the gasoline also cheap.......baht 500(@HK100) can fill whole tank for 150km-200km.

I will not go to PP Island with my daughter since it takes too long time. I learned from my friend that they jointed the local tour to the "Egg Island", it will pick you up in the morning to the Egg Island and bring you back until late afternoon, it is almost one day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., (around 8 hrs?)but I was told by her that it is not worth to spend such a long time in the Egg Island, especially for a kid, let's say two to three hours is enough, that's why I would like to know can I hire a speed boat to the Egg Island.
