another cold day with bad traffic. :-(
so quiet in the office now.
2 more weeks will be the chinese new year - how's everyone celebrate that?
headache to think what to buy for the "gift" to my Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law , any idea and suggestion?
wonder which Brand "Lin Ko" is good? Last year I bought one from the "golden Dynasty" in Times Square, but not that good...

nothing special on celebrating CNY. need to go to work, no one come to "bye lin" - not like hk. no idea which brand "lin ko" is good. i want to know too. my daughters like to eat this very much. we have home made "law pak ko". i made 4 last year and put it in freezer. finish one take another one out.
do you mean go to "bye lin's gift"?? i usually buy candies only.

Dear all,

My daughter is 2.5yr old, i was a visa student in Toronto before, i miss Toronto very much....except the winter.... i lived in Scarborough and Richmond hill before. i just came last Sept for visit my friend and my aunt, and i will come to my cousin wedding party on July, i think i will stay here for two or three weeks, hope will meet you guys too!!

ckkwkl, yes, I mean "bye lin's gift", as I already bought the candies for the X'mas. so just did not wish to "repeat" that.

I don't know how to make the "ko" not even the "law Pak ko". Last year, we bought the "coconut lin ko" for my Brother-in-law, and in return, got a quarter of the "law-pak ko" and "Wu Tau Ko"..
They taste nice, and I just don't know where they bought it. But can't ask them, and go and buy that for the "buy lin gift" sound funny lor.

ckkwkl, our friend told us in the Market village - there is a singapore beef/pork jerky - freshly made. We went there on Sunday night to buy one to try out.. tease so good.
most probably will buy such for "new year gift" lor. But be honest, very espensive - $14/lb.

yes, that one tastes good. tender and juicy, not hard as rock. we like to go to that resturant too. my girls like the satay very much.

anything, do you have problems in viewing BK. "this page cannot be displayed" or takes a long long time to load a page.

no wonder not that many response nowadays lor..

today is "lap chun" - any celebration... we will go out to have dinner for kind of Friday event.. nothing special. no cooking on Friday lor.

Hi all,

I shopped in Vaughan Mills today and found out some of stores doesn't charge PST. Ho ho ho, I saved extra money!

This year, I am so happy because my sister from Calgary stopped over in Toronto for a day. We had a good time together.

BW'SMOM, I am having maternity leave now; am I counted as stay as home mom? I have met doggie and she is such a nice lady.

yes.. I am the Old lady here..

hey, which shop does not charge PST. I went there before (during x'mas time) and did not realised some shops have no PST, better let us know so everyone could save $$.

I'll have "tuen lin" with my godchildren's family tomorrow in my place... - now just need to think of what to have tomorrow.

I missed those days in HK that I will have early leave on the Chinese new year eve.. but here.. need to work straightly to 5:00pm. :-(

Winner's, Children's Place, Roots, La Vie Rose. No PST ah. I am not sure if it is a long term thing since it is first time for me to shop there.

we went to big mouth kee for the "tuen lin dinner". my conclusion is big mouth kee can be deleted from the list la. really bad taste, esp. the "mo shek pork" - meat just like boiled in water to cook and then put in the hot pot + other ingredents for tastes.

we went to "ying chun chai" (SW corner of 14th /Kennedy) for dinner last week with our badminton friend. the Set dinner (for 12) is really good - costs only $238. and if you are the member - then entitle 10% discount... so good for dinner. reasonable price and good taste.

ckkwkl, you've lots of people for "tuen lin dinner"? I got headache already for tonight's meal. Yesterday. just rush here and there to buy the food in order to prepare the dinner tonight.
lucky I got a houseman at home, and will do the preparation - otherwise, will be in a mess.
in an hour time, will be gone and dash home for the oyster, scallop. as my hubby hate to "clean" that...

any of you will go to the first markham place or any chinese mall for the festival show tonight?

5 adults and 3 kids.
i have tried ying chun chai once before.
how's your dinner yesterday? i don't quite like cooking chinese food for dinner for guests, i prefer inviting guests for western food - use oven lor (roast beef/pork/chicken etc.).
i have not planned to go for the show, it will be too late and have a lot of people. have you gone there after dinner?
