I am still struggling to change the maid or not, becos my Charmaine speaks poor pronounciation of English as my maid is doing, like 'good kirl' instead of good girl, 'led' instead of 'red'.... etc etc.... :-(
I have talked to the employer of the maid you recommended. Her employer commented her very well. I think I will interview her tmr or next Sunday to see if she is suitable for me.

If she's been working in HK before, she should know that they have to pay the agency fee.
If she's really trying to rip you off, you have to seriously think through it. Do you really like her that much that you are willing to pay that fee? What if she is one of those clever gal?
I don't know, if it's me, I will see if my current maid is doing good enough esp. the way she interact and take care of the baby. Do I have time to look for a second one before the existing maid's contract ended.
(I may understand your struggle, frankly, I wouldn't want to keep the current maid after the contract end since she already knew I was going to fire her once. There's already a thing in between one another.)
Well, I told her I appreciate her and think she's the right one for me. However, she should not take advantage from me when she is not my helper yet! Probably because I always look too kind to them!
This is a Filipino helper to replace my current Indonesian helper in February 2006 when finishing the contract. That means I am not going to renew the contract with my current Indonesian helper. However, I am now struggling to sign this Filipino or not as she denied to pay for what she suppose to pay and sounds taking advantage from me too. Anyway, if not this filipin, I have to hunt for another one again.. what a back luck!!!!!!!! :-(

The maid is "大" you. My colleague also encountered this and my colleague insisted not to pay for the her agency fee (the agency required HK$5000 from the maid tim ). And finally, her maid paid for the agency fee la. So, if your "maid" don't want to pay, you find another one la~ So poor you :-|
This is because in my case would be direct-hire since she need to go back Philippines and come back again after few months. For your case would be 'finishing contract maid' then they charge you around 2xxx and charge the maid 10%.

Just talked to the parents at school this morning regarding maids, they all said the maid is taking advantage of you. You should seriously think of signing her even if she's willing to pay it at the end, since as you'd said, she's not even your maid now. What other thing would she do after you'd hire her. There is no trust already!

I am very very unhappy and mad about my current Indonesian helper and my agent. They are in the same gang and tend to fool me around. Lucky, I found out their tricks by my friend's helper. So, now I have to search for a new helper urgently and want to terminate my helper ASAP.
