One is 6 years old, another one is 2 and half years old. Already find International school for my 6 years old children, but the two years old kid not yet find school. When we alreary go to Shanghai, can I contact you, can you give me your contact phone in Hong Kong and Shanghai.

I have many question, please advise?
(1) The milk of kids, I will be buy 24pcs milk from HK delivery to Shanghai for my kids, may be enough for 6 months, or buy at Shanghai is NO PROBLEM?

(2) The food (e.g. flour, sugare, salt, etc) I don't know buy from Shanghai is OK?

(3) I need to buy water filter from HK to Shanghai use or buy from Shanghai, the drinking water at Shanghai is OK for childen or I need to use distill water?

(4) What I need nessessary to buy from HK and bring to Shanghai?

nice to meet you.
For the milk , I advice you to buy in Hk and bring to SH . Although the brand is the same, the origin of manufacturing may be different.
As far as I know, the food is Ok and there is organic food in SH big supermarket.

I want to bring the house helper go to Shanghai with our family. Is it possible. I know she need every six months come back to HK for apply the China VISA again.

There is a big supermarket in Shanghai named 家
樂福. The expatrats go there to shop for food and necessities. The main thing u need to bring for you kids are milk powder

Hi M_Law,

Sorry for late response as I'm busy "shopping" & "playing" the whole day until now. Haha.....

Mandarin is not a problem, you can hire a tutor to teach you when you arrive SH. And the environment will force you adapting to this dialect gradually.

We're all Chinese C9.

Re member number, I don't know exactly how many are there already in SH, for those that are "ready-to-go" are :

黃子 (go by end of July)
angelachan (go by Sept-Oct)
dianakay (go by late Aug)
QQ (go by mid-Aug)

Hi, all Shanghai Mummy, Can you tell me when your family move to Shanghai how much of the relocation fee (forwarder company), my forwarder company quote me around HK$50.00 per suft (min 400 suft, equal to HK$20,000) excluding tax, insurance, documentation fee, etc. Is it expenses or cheap? please commend.

I may be buy two boxes (24 cans) of milk for my two kids for 5 to 6 months. And can you tell me the drinking water of Shanghai is OK or I need to buy distill water in Shanghai to mix the milk for my kids. OR I need to buy the water filter in HK bring to Shanghai. please advice.

黃子, You use which one forwarder company? Are you use one 貨櫃 or not, is it door to door. It is because we will be pack all my thing to Shanghai at end of July 05. I hope you can find your missed box. Good Luck

I am Miranda, Can I know why you need to move to Shanghai. In HK, are you (all mother) need to work or not? I need to work in HK, but now I already resignation. I already working with my boss (CPA) have over 15 years, I have a very position job. But my husband need go to Shangahi (his company assign him to take over at Shanghai's branch comapny, is a international company). He talk with me before one year ago. So, I make a disseion ----- go with him with two children.
I don't know can I suitable in Shanghai, I never go to Shanghai or other place in China by air plane.

hi Miranda,
I will move to SH in Sept to join my husband. I am a working mother with two kids. I really love my job and i have not resigned yet. I don't know how to face my chief as he is so nice to me and taugth me a lot of things.
However, I found it very difficult to take care of my two kids and my job at the same time. I work very long hour but with very good job satisfaction.As my mom is too tired to help me and want to go back to canada,and I finally make up my mind.My husband is so happy after he know my decision. I think I have the duty to take care of my kids and I have to sacrifice my career.
Don't worry, you are not alone.

Hi, Angela, If you want to bring the maid to go China with you, you need help she to apply China VISA (can stay in China not more than six months), before 180 days she need back to HK, and then she have 14 days stay in HK and apply the same VISA again and go to China again. But need to help she buy a travelling insurance. (NOT working VISA, NOT working insurance)

Is your maid a philino ?
I hope my maid can make some friends in SH and I promise her to bring she to Churh on Sunday when we go to SH.

China VISA only 3 days apply, can though agent or travel company. you need said the six months for one time (NOT one month, 3 months for many times)

I already tell my philino's miad before one month ago. She is OK

I tell my helper, she may be can not get public hoilday, Sunday, she can go with us on hoilday or Sunday go to churh, it is because if she go out by herself is not safty for her. but I promise her give her more than one month annual leave and extra bonus after completed two year contact (the contact signed between she and me, not under HK's employer and labour)
