Thanks lillymarie, I visited those websites but did not go into detaiils.... Before I estimated that I need 65 boxes to be sent by post office (since they limit the size, I need to use more boxes) ... these are books, clothes, some small electrical appliances and baby's toys. It costs about HKD$20000... I have no idea about the price of second hand products, but I read from the http://www.tradingpost.com.au/Home?intref=bg108 , the 2nd hand products seem not cheap....
I guess you don't want to use second hand mattress either. Maybe you can check the www.realestate.com.au to see what kind of rental houses available in Albany, the houses here in my suburbs nearly all have built in wardrobe, so you don't need to buy one.
Because the employer will provide subsidized accommodation... my husband has asked them to give us more idea of the house, either furnished or unfurnished.... now waiting for their reply....
冇錯呀... 唔怕一萬, 只怕萬一... 如果冇買, touch wood 有咩損傷就冇得賠...
可能你聽錯, 你持有working visa, 你可以bring 你items which are used more than 12 months without paying any tax & duty. 但新買既或唔夠12個月就要declare... 當然, shipping company 會幫你/教你俾少d or 唔使俾... 視乎你用個間會否幫你
I got 2 quotes in June 2009, for everyone's info (door to door for HK to Aust, bear in mind I live in 村屋 in HK and their is extra charge because of no lift), the price I list below is the total charge, exclude insurance
Relocasia (this is the one i used) : HKD38,250, ins is 3.5% on delcared value
Links Relocation : HKD42,645, ins is 3.25% on declared value
The quotation on Relocaisa is on 875 cu ft, the total volume for a 20ft container is approx 1,000 cu ft, but we bargain with them and finally there is no extra chg as long as our stuffs fit in a 20ft container.
