Hello, good to meet all of you! I am searching Sin/Hk child care and kindergarten and found this topic is 95% similar as my case. especially the child edu.

My husband is from SG, I am Hk. Our son is Hk borned, SG citizen. My son is 2.9yrs. My husband has decided to move back to Sin with my son because of the educatioin. I have to stay in HK at the moment because of the work base. I properly have to become weekend or holiday mama if I miss my son..

I would like to hear more advise/info abt sin education for such small child even though I have agreed to my husband's decision!

We just moved to TKO not long ago. My son also have social skill problem. He is also English speaking and little bit Mandarin.. No cantonese at all. Some of my friend said it's because of the language problem.

Are your daughter studying at international or local kindergarten?

Now she is studying at a pth school, with one third of time studying English, coz she already speak eng at home, we let her study more pth.

So when will your hb n son move back to Singapore? We are thinking about it as well, I think that our situation is really quite similar here, we just talked about it yesterday.

May I know which scool?
We are also thinking to send my son to SIS next yr for preparatory 1. But my husband still believe edu environment affect the kid most.

They may move back Oct/Nov if the ideal child care centre got space for him.

education in sin …………to me it's so much tougher than it used to be.

academic wise it's better than hk.

environment …I think it's almost the same .

am living in db now n we love it so far. quiet n mostly Expats.

my dd goes to local kindy n so far no problems. but I think have to brush up on her English in terms of spelling.
she have no problems in reading as we read to her daily. pth …………she always have short tern memory hehhehe so she sometimes can't remember.

I talk to her in english,pth n hokkien n she understand loooo

my son ……………headache, playful n still at ABI instead of ABC

moving back to sin ……………I personally dun like living there except good food. maybe later? still uncertain but not now.

My husband booked few. All at west. They are Jurong Safra, agape little uni and Little Skool house.. Still on waiting list.
Full fee is sgd1000 /month.. But after subsidy will be about 700-800. We also got baby bonus to pay for that.. It's not too expensive after the subsidy and bb bonus.

Living apart from my child is my big concern past 2.9yrs.. But I decided to let them move back after I see my son's happy face when he goes to Sin for holidays.. Properly, his origin is from there even though he was borned in HK.

pluva, all those mentioned is normal kindy ………schools like Lorna w should be more ex.

depending in where u live …u need to pay for school buses. u wouldn't wanna drive in e mornings if u have to travel far.

mrt are not so efficient.

overall if the whole family can be in one country. that will be e best choice

My girl is also much happier n Singapore, but as said by Cecelia, the good kinder is much more expensive n the queue is very long.

We go back can just go for public school by lucky draw in p1, really leave no choice for IB school or so, n the competition is really keen. Life there is much comfortable, n education is better, but tougher..... My hb n girl want to move back too. I am the one always deferring the plan......still cannot make up my mind, am I too selfish? I really don't know.

Hi Cecelia, I fully agree same family shall live at same country. This is my biggest concern always! But my job occupy lots of my time! If I have to balance my time at work and kid, I may fail both side. Anyway, I am unable to be fully time mama and give my time as much as I can to my child. Why shall I stop him from receiving better education at better environment? Ann
