Dear Tszwing ,
I am still checking with my agency regarding Prince hotel and English coaching in Naeba etc. He has not got back to me yet. I think it is likely that we will fly over to Naeba because it is so much cheaper than to Sapporo. Plus we just came back a few weeks ago. Our aim is mainly to let my daughter to fool around with the snow and hopefully she can learn skiing too. Hence, Naeba should be able to fullfill our purpose. We may wait until my daughter can really ski before we go to somewhere more professional I suppose.
Yes, my daughter is a big girl and your girl is a small girl (Was she born in Nov?). That's why my girl is in K1. She is studying in St. Catherine am now. She used to study in ESF though.
I have sent an email to my friend whose wife is a Japanese from Tokyo. She may be able to give me some more information.
My holiday ends on the 26th Dec so I must fly back before the 27th Dec. Hopefully, the snow is not too bad. :-P

My daughter joins the兒童音樂鋼琴班 in diamond hill.
So you need to learn together with your daughter?! Do you know piano playing?

Rachel went to learn drawing when she was in N1 also. Where does your daughter learn drawing/
Rachel has learnt swimming for 15 months already. Now she is able to swim for 5 meters without aid.

I learnt my snowboarding in slope infinity and every year I will go there to practice for 1-2 lessons before the trip! Last year, I saw some children learnt ski there too.

My daughter can not speak nor understand a word of Chinese. I want her Chinese to have at least a primary school level before she leaves Hong Kong. In addition, I really doubt the learn through play concept in ESF. The teachers in ESF only sing a bit or play for a while when the class starts in the morning. Then it is open program, that is you can play or do whatever you want. The teachers in there during the open program is almost like a baby siter instead of coaching them while they are playing. Sometimes they just play the VCD like magic key etc etc to the kids. Then they will read the story books or play games only before the class ends. I think my daughter may learn much more than that in local school. In addition, with the level and things taught in K1 and K2 , I think they may only be competent if they go ESF primary only.

For drawing, my girl just start in May 06 and it was close to our apartment(SaiWanHo) as I live in Taikooshing. Where did u live?
For swimming, we don't let her to take any lesson. She just start to swim this summer with his nephew and she is really enjoy. We plan to fina a coach for her to learn swimming next year instead.
Well, yr girls is really smart for swim.

I didn't practice any ski lesson in HK, hence, I hv no idea about that. Do u think is worth to practice in HK and also let our girls to learn there too. Anyway, do u plan to bring yr girl there?

You are a good mother. Actually I don’t time to accompany my daughter for the piano lessons. Any piano books used in your class?

I live in Sai Sung. The slope infinity, in north point, is quite near to your apartment. I will bring my daughter there to learn some basic skill before the trip. Therefore, she will not be scare and cry. She will also enjoy more if she can travel up some beginner tract. And I can have time to go uphill!

Dear Tszwing,
Of course I can tell you my schedule but I am still waiting for the reply from my agency as well as from my friend's wife.
First of all, I need to check whether it will normally snow in between 19th to 25th Dec in 苗場. Second, I will definitely book the 7 days tickets because it is cheaper. I can not stay more than 10 days anyway. I need to check whether 7 days ticket means 7 nights and 8 days. If so, it will be just right. I will fly either on the 17th or 18th Dec depends on whether there is a big difference in price. Then I will stay in Kleo plaza and go to Disney land on the next day. (there is much less people on weekday) Then I will go to 苗場 and stay there for 4 nights (assumming you can not really ski on the day you arrive and on the day you leave.) in Prince Hotel. I just take the advantage that Prince Hotel is situated in the ski field苗場. Hence, I can take my daughter back to our room if she gets too cold. A lot of my friends in Aus told me that their kids always get sick and fever on their first time in snow. Then I will go back to Kleo plaza and go to the zoo on the next day. It seems like all these will take 7 nights already. I have not much interest in shopping for myself and hence the iten. is mainly tailor made for my daughter.
My daugther has her last day in school on the 15th Dec and hence she does not need to take any leave. My daugher was born in March. She will be the very small girl (cut out date for school in Aus is the 31st march) in Aus. but she is a big girl in HK.
ESF is 英基 international. I think St. Catherine is good because it has got its reputation. However, in my eye of perfection, it could have been better. There is really not much choice for kindergartens. I only want a kinder with a high standard of English (Native English teacher is a must) and at the same time she can pick up some Chinese as well. St. Catherine seems to fullfill this. In fact, I initally plan to get in CCKG (although I am a bit moved now) but they only have K2. It seems like most of the people will choose St. Catherine in K1. Plus a lot of my friend's kids also have their kids study in St. Catherine and they all like this school very, very much.

I'm not a good mother just up to standard. The reason why I accompany with her is she is very shy, if I ask her to take the piano lesson, may b she will not attend. May be in next semester, I will let her to learn by herself.
I think the piano book for mine should be different with yr. I forgot what we use.
Yes, slope infinity is really close to may apartment. Meanwhile, how much for the ski lesson? It seems very interesting for me to let my girl to learn either. When u plan to bring yr kids there.

For the sick problem of kids. I didn't think about that. As for my past experience, I saw a lot of small kids ski in Niseko and also the coach tell me for kids start fm 4 ys old is a good timing for them to learn ski. Also, when u are skiing, u wl feel hot and sweat a lot no matter u are a professionl or not.
Well, yr daughter start X'mas so earlier, it's geat as u can take the advantage to hv competitive price for ticket, hotel ...etc.

it's good idea to join together because the lesson is quite expensive. as far as I can remember, 1 hr lesson for 2-3 people costs $900.
