It is too bad to know ur husband does not like to use Apple\'s product because it\'s product is much better than the Android based items.
Maybe your husband is like one of my friends who just hate anything from Apple. And his home doesn\'t have a single product from Apple.
Based of my experience of Samsung note 2, Google Android tablet, Samsung tablet and 小米, I don\'t think Android OS can make me love it when comparing to Apple iOS. Haha..
dmpsuen - where u bought the 小米盒子 in HK? or you bought the TV pad from HK. i will be visiting HK shortly. so if i know where to buy - it save my time.. many thanks.
U can get TVpad at 黃金電腦商場 (Golden Computer Arcade) and 高登電腦廣場 (Goldern Computer Plaza) and 福仁電腦商場 in Sham Shui Po. I got my 小米盒子 in 福仁電腦商場 (綠色牌) next to 福仁大廈 (Wonder Building), opposite to 黃金電腦商場 (Golden Computer Arcade) and 高登電腦商場.
Dear Doggie, my husband bought it from Shum Shui Po. About $430 (the latest version) but not jail break cause my husband knew how to break it. Altough he's back to Toronto now, he leaves the box with me to watch in HK till August to bring back.
dmpsuen, does the shop in shamshui poo help to break the code so that we could use in Toronto? if so, how much, me and my husband is dumb and don't know how to break the code.
just talk to my other girlfriend they said we do have 小米盒子 sold in toronto (namede Mi-fi TV). but charge about CA$250 -300 each.... but gaurantee could watch the TVB here in toronto..
Dear Doggie, the shop we purchase do not do jail break. My husband did by himself. There are many shops in the computer mall in Shum Shui Po they do sell the 小米 with jail break. But cost higher. Someone said around $500.
Once jail break done, you can load diff apps for diff channels.
dmpsuen - does it mean if we don't have the jail break, we could not even use the box in toronto? or simply we just can't load the apps for for diff channels
My husband said the 2nd version of 小米 is able to load apps yourself but you need to know how to work with APK file formate. If you buy more expensive ones, the shop staff will load the apps for you already. You can tell them you want to watch TVB. Just I heard many people saying very slow. I have not tried myself cause I'm still in HK while my husband is back to Toronto to work. I will bring back the box to Canada in August and have my husband to load the app for TVB to check if work.
Now I used the box to watch Korean and Chinese movies. You know the 我是歌手2? It's very quick loading up. We loaded LetTV, 泰捷, etc. Will try to load cloud TV later.
Dmpsuen, please let us know if the cloud tv works well in HK or not, ok? coz my 小米 is super slow when loading cloud tv. I want to know if the slow loading is because of we are in North America..too far from their server.
dmpsuen - thanks for the PM. a reyou coming to toronto. then let me know if that works in toronto. as i wil be in HK in Sep.. if that works, will buy one over. however, both me and my husband is not a IT guy, so need to play safe to have something that works in here.
my girlfriend just bought a TV pad 3 from hK in Jan for HK$350 and nothing need to do, just simply plug onto the TV and watch..
i am that type of person. to break the code and load the apps seems too complicated for the c-9 like me.
So Doggie, does your friend able to watch TVB with the TV pad 3? Seems 350 is good deal, if yes I may as well buy this one in case if 小米 not working well.
I guess in the future, user has to buy the box from TVB and pay monthly fee. Not sure if they will provide this service to overseas. But for sure the news reporter said this new service will be able to block other illegal online viewing. Does it mean they will 打擊 TV pad or 小米?
I think it will not affect TVpad coz it has its own build-in app and severs to host all the contents. Not sure about 小米 coz it is not mainly for watching TVB drama when they make it.
It is hard for TVB to 打擊非法下載 because ppl can do screen capture of the TVB drama then upload to the site or server..they won\'t win in this battle.
yes. my gf watch the TVB, J2 and the HK news. together with whole bunch of china TV channels (CCTV 5 etc). and no need to break the code.
now she said she is going to find the Apps to load the fairchild to TVpad 3 so that she could watch the fairchild (the local chinese channel in Toronto)
