Hi Everyone,

I would like to have some advice from you about daycare or kindy in Shatin/fo tan area.
We are coming back this Nov to Feb next year.
I want Hoyin to go to a daycare or kindy for a couple of months from Dec to Feb (learn Cantonese).
We are going to live in Shui Wo Yuen in Shatin (I dont really know where it is).
My mum said that it is near Fo Tan KCR.
I just wonder if you know any good kindy or daycare in this area.
I want to know how to apply and can he just study for 2 months.

You can check with Canny, she lived in "Shui Wo Yuen" before.

For "Fo Tan", you can check with Sandythepooh, she is living there now.

For Day Care (whole day), I heard this one is good at Tai Po:
香港教育學院匯豐幼兒發展中心（幼稚園部）

For Shatin, these are some kinders with Whole-Day class (i think):
好時光幼兒學校（沙田廣場）(國際課程)

嘉德麗幼稚園

This is the one in Fo Tan (Kam B and HH are studying now), but very very full:
樂基幼兒學校（駿景園）

1. 明愛沙田幼兒學校 (獨立校舍, w/ outdoor area)
2. 救世軍田家炳幼稚園 (typical 屋村幼稚園 but they use the high/scope approach which is exactly the same as what my son's school is now used...)

好時光幼兒學校（沙田廣場）(國際課程) is not good ga coz I visited this kindy before.... the area is not big and the NET they hired are ... not QKT 'qualified'...

嘉德麗幼稚園 is in City One and my 表姪孫's comment is okay (his son is same age as my son...) but not much outdoor space for children lor...

I've applied two Shatin kinders, HKPS and Creative 啓思 [creative, click here] for HH and I picked HKPS.....HKPS is good and they have two streams, International (mandarin speaking teacher + NET) and anglo-chinese (Cantonese speading teacher + NET with about 20mins mandarin time per day)......Creative is smaller than HKPS, with more emphasis in Chinese and the teachers seems ok.... both schools have indoor playground only

Shatin is a good place to live......I'm living in Fo Tan district now.....frankly, there's not much facilities in Fo Tan area, but we can get our daily needs in Shatin (about 15 mins bus) .... there's a library and a big park there too :wink:

穗禾苑 -> 位置係火炭, 如果由火炭穗禾苑行落火炭火車站要 15 分鐘 (落樓梯), 如果由火炭火車站行上穗禾苑, 就要行上樓梯, 都幾遠下架, 所以我個時, 都係沙田火車站坐小巴返穗禾苑, (都有巴士由沙田巴士站返去穗禾苑) 火炭火車站都有小巴上穗禾苑

穗禾苑上面都有仄間保良局, 孫方中幼稚園, 應該唔 full 架, 你係咪有親戚住穗禾苑 ?? 你叫你親戚去同你問下, 問下可唔可以讀3個月

火炭樂基, 我驚好 full 喎, 又未必可以只讀3個月

Yes, we are coming back for summer only.
I want Hoyin to learn & speak more cantonese.
He is starting to speak English only at home.
I hope I can find a school for him.
If I can get a school, I will take him to playgroup myself (I need to take bb sister as well)!!!

Thanks very much for your help!
My sister has an apartment there so we will live there by ourselves (3 of us).
I will try to contact this kindy or get my brother to contact them.
If I cant get hoyin a kindy, I might just go to playgroup in shatin or fo tan.
However, I do want him to go to kindy then I dont need to take 2 kids at the same time.

去咗澳洲幾個月咋就已經滿口英文,
佢父母都驚佢好快唔記得晒啲中文呀!

My church is City One Baptist Church < Click here >, it is one of the members of 浸信會聯會 (same as Kowloon City Baptist Church).

It's in 第一城, close to 'Sui Wo Court' as well. Joshua joins the Sunday School there for nearly 2 years and can sing many songs like 'Jesus loves me', 'B-I-B-L-E', 'God is Good', 'Give me oil to my lamp', and now I'm teaching him to sing 'Joshua fought a battle in Jericole'...

U are cordially invited to our church as well...
