呢個point舊年我同我d朋友同ellie傾過,大家都有感當時港英正苦如果假設真係咁做的話,香港亦會牽生好多問題,例如工人走唔到,就會滯留喺hk...亦增加人口澎脹..同時亦都會變成難民港吸引類似工人打工為名以期嚟港逗留以搏居留權或等等福利...

但到今日..亦演變咗對僱主唔公平同冇障,頭先同ellie傾電話,雖則呢個point表面睇好難搞...亦牽涉兩個唔同部門機關同幾個部門既區域...但我地會有好既方案嘗試提出..雖則未必100%得,但亦都希望提出好過唔提...有2成機會我地都唔會放過...但大家千奇唔好誤會係一毫子機票都唔使比(因為真係冇可能唔比架...監獄唔夠養佢地架,就算夠咪又係納稅人既$$$)...個方案只係將大家既損失減至最低最低

我聽講﹝唔知真定假﹞如果係新加坡個外傭係合約期內懷孕，僱主係唔需要給任何賠償而立即叫個工人走。我自己都係女人，我并唔係性別歧視，只係我地請佢地黎係幫我地照顧家庭和小朋友，萬一佢地有左，我地唔可以炒佢之餘重要照顧番佢地轉頭。我自己冇試過依d情況，但我有同事試過個工人黎左一段時間﹝我唔記得幾耐﹞跟住就大左肚，最後個同事俾左成兩萬元叫佢走。

另外我都覺得個 levy好唔合理，如果我地換工人就一定要叫個舊工人走左先批個 visa 俾個新工人，即係最少都會有兩個星期，試問我地 d working mummy 邊有可能請幾個星期假去填補個真空期 + 工人到同佢地做培訓，所以我都覺得個 levy 應該取消以減少當我地想換工人既時候既限制。

Levy 既意義係用作培訓香港既女傭，但其實香港既女傭係咪真係可以代替倒外傭？佢地有自己個家庭要照顧，好多時都要番屋企煮飯，而果段時間我地根本未收工，所以由我地去俾培訓費根本唔合理，唔係我地唔想用本地女傭，而係無論係時間同價錢方面根本配合唔倒。

一紙僱傭合約,又唔係我地去定...全由政府去set..我地跟本冇得選擇

.....唉~~~如果係由政府去set呢份約既僱傭細則的話,

不如叫呢個食屎政府d高官喺佢地份人工扣十分一出嚟幫補吓...橫樹d高官既人工係普遍國家最高薪既公務員...邊個話仲有做官既...兩袖清風..清廉尊貴呢樣野架,做官做議員先揾到錢呀家吓(大家有睇news就明白d議員點報大數呃錢)...今晚就諗吓點搞呢個point先....

"不平等條約”
只做三個月, 自己理由請辭, 點解仲要僱主比機票????????

我個飛姐係透過朋友個飛姐介紹, 再自己找菲傭公司代辦手續申請來港(direct hire), 最初諗住有熟人介紹, 應該會好啲, 而且我直接請佢, 佢唔駛比agent費, 應該冇咁易周街借$.

結果來到什麼也不識做(不過佢呢之前, 在飛國已強制性參加兩個星期外傭課程及考三日由飛國政府設的外傭試, 合格才可出國, 好似話最近飛國為保證質素而定的).

我又要返工, 又冇時間教佢, 第一個月用咗我三仟多元請個本地鐘點教佢, 只怪自己唔好彩, 呢咗咁耐, 日日到都獨菇一尾”炒飯”, 連湯水也不用妄想, 同埋仲有第二尾~~經常講個句”Nothing to do” + “long face”, 不過佢有兩樣好………., 好豬, 擔S唔偷食, 另外英文好okay, 可惜佢唔多鍾意同我個寶貝玩, 又唔喜歡開金口.

雖然如此, 我都冇所謂(降低要求, 咁未日日開心攞), 於是我日日笑住咁去回應佢個long face, 從來都冇半句責罵, 希望有個快樂的家庭比我寶貝, 偕因我怕我返咗工, 我個寶貝放學返呢, 佢會對我個寶貝唔好(雖然寶貝已讀小一), 其實我就真係名符其實”假單親”, 偕因我個哈子餅身在外地工作. 就算日日食炒飯, 仍笑住口對住佢講”yummy”, 不過……………在第二個月出糧比佢個日, 佢就送咗一份大禮給我”大信封”(原因家鄉老父病重), 比一個月通知我, 然後就回老家, 咁個情形下, 我仍要陪機票, 佢要求飛航(真係好似呢旅行), 原本我對佢say no, only one ticket dated on the effective date, 不過見只係相差$100, 況且希望佢呢個月對我哋好啲, 唉, 算啦, 就比佢啦.

你話有冇天理, 如果”我炒佢”又或”佢完約”而要比機票, 就心咁命抵, 家吓只係三個月咗, 我家陣仲要掏錢出呢再個新飛姐, 你估我哋係金礦呀! (direct hire processing fee + levy fee + 1mth local domestic helper + airticket………….new maid processing fee+…………..), 香港政府啲高官夠竟做乜, 咁呵克既法例都定得, 你估家陣同飛國簽咗”不平等條約”咩.

驚啲外傭冇錢買機票走, 咁未強制性要佢哋入職前, 要自掏腰包買個"強制性路費供款", 萬一未完約要走, 便唔駛怕冇路費, 到有幸做到完約, 又可取回供款的部份作獎勵, 大家點睇呢?

In my opinion, employers of foreign domestic helpers will be responsible to pay the premium of medical insurance, all other medical expenses
should be borne by them. I think many employers of foreign DHs are not rich, eg we are (my family) only basic middle class, we have to spend money in a budget way and uneasy to save money, it is a very heavy burden for us to be take 100% of their medical expenses, particularly if you are unlucky to employ a maid who need to consult doctor quite often or even admit to hospital. Dental expenses are very unfair for us too. If you do a simple survey in this website, how many of us can enjoy this benefit. The contract of foreign DHs are prepared by senior government officers, they enjoy 100% medical, incl dental coverage but the majority of us do not. It is impractical and unfair for us.

Regarding DHs' salary, we have no say about that. Can govt make our employers to increase our salary and provide what kind of benefits compulsory.

The nature and working environment of DHs are completely different. Local people also unwilling to do this kind of job. The current situation only let foreign DHs remit lot of money to their countries and no protection for us.

I found that many foreign domestic helpers like to borrow money (just like to get double or trible pay before leaving) and not to settle their bills before they leave HK which cause trouble to their employers. Govt can do something on this area, eg govt will not approve their working visa again if they do not pay their debts, etc.

我話比你知...廿多卅年前既例同份合約遵守內容係好嚴架...外傭一比人炒,就跟本要即刻返去原居地冇得留低再揾工..但自從以前有d無良既agent教工人點誣告僱主之後,就惡性循環搞到而家咁狀況...

因為廿多卅年前既agent fee係萬幾兩萬蚊請一個工人而係唔包換既..咁做生意既剩係做你一單咩,於是乎佢地咪教d工人做衰d搏炒,個工人又有一個月補又有機票,而僱主又要比多萬幾兩萬蚊再請一個工人...何樂而不為???加上近十年大陸開放咗比外國人去旅遊之後..又教d工人拎完機票就去大陸喱埋等人再請然後再返嚟(實質機票已經係呃我地啦),跟住咪演變到有人見到原來呢個market好大...咁就教d工人誣告僱主去分錢既乜乜會物物會啦...咁d工人學精咗咯..咪私自去誣告同去玩d僱主囉...一個教一個...僱主咪比佢地玩到棟咗喺度囉....而我地個政府又冇Q用,又怕事..如果呢d情況喺大陸又會唔會發生吖???阿爺唔知幾保障d人民家吓..我如果有機會...個仔成人..我搬返去住tim呀...

總之而家好多人都"喉"住「僱主與工人」呢兩個性質既market架....總之乜乜會物物會話幫得你既,都係一個字...就係個"錢"字同大家既利用價值,唔緊要,幫到大家既我咪比你利用囉,但佢地真係幫唔到吖麻,越幫越Q衰...我曾經就爭d咁比人擺咗上神枱搞乜乜會物物會比人利用嚟揾錢揾著數去出位...好在呢度bk d mom明白我唔係一個咁容易比人揾笨既人...唉~~~世界難撈麻...我諗果咋乜乜X主X盟既人遲吓睇到乞兒原來都有市場既...佢地又會整個乜乜乞兒盟架喇..名副其實乞兒兜拎飯食

Agreed. I have similar experience.

The first time, the hired a local finished contract DH, she resigned after a month's service for she has problem to take care of my children. Only one month, I have to pay expenses for air-ticket, visa fee, medical check up....

The second time, a maid resigned after 13 months service for she needed to go home to get marry. She feared that she might loss her boyfriend. I lost expenses for air-ticket, visa fee (both old and new maids), medical check up (both old and new maid), levy...

The most important thing is that I have to sequeeze my valuable time to train up a new maid. I also had my local part-time baby-sitter to teach the second maid.

I do hope those senior government officers can understand our problems. We only want our govt give us some protection, we have no better choice but leave our children to a stranger.

As my existing maids make many mistakes intentionally. She has passed the newly exam imposed by the Philippines govt but very poor performance. I asked her if she has a handbook from the agency this evening. She gave me one which is quite detailed and comprehensive. I asked her if she had read it. She just told me "DID NOT". I asked her why. The agency definitely gave the handbook to her before she came to HK, she should read it before she reported duty, even on her journey to HK (she replied just 2 hour flight), but she has been working in HK for almost 4 months, she just said busy and no time to read, how about her holidays???? Any protection for us???

We cannot change a maid too often, 1st no time, 2nd no good for small children.

I am having the same experience like you. My maid whom I hired last June has to quit since she needs to go back home to take care her baby. So we have got a new maid from agency in early April. To save us from paying levy of both existing and new maids, we will end our maid's contract on the last day we need to pay another $2400 levy of the existing maid. This is the only method that we have checked with Immigration. My maid will leave us soon but the new maid's visa application is on hold since her ex-employer (she is being terminated recently by someone in HK) hasn't sent the termination letter to Immigration. She cannot get a new visa if her ex-employer won't give Immigration the termination letter. Our DEAR maid agency said that they haven't already done what they need to do. With their so-called expertise, they don't even ask the new maid a copy of this termination letter although they said that this letter should be handled by them but the agency of her ex-employer. They are the one who get the charge of referring this maid to us. They should make sure everything is ok for the visa application. Sometimes, we even have more expertise and knowledge on maid visa processing since we are the one who keep calling immigration hotline to ask. We pay for expensive agency fee who need to call the "always-engaged" (might be it's due to the stupid agency who cannot help...) immigration hotline by ourselves at work!

I cannot sleep every nite since my new maid's visa is on hold and my maid is almost going. What's more, it is another uncertainty of the new maid whether she is good or not. Everyone has experience in getting new maids should understand our feeling. Spending a lot of money does not means a peaceful of mind with guarantee of getting the right maid...

I shared the same feeling with you. I also cannot sleep even a new maid has reported duty. Normally
they need to follow-up long time, and there is a lot of uncertainty before she can come. That's why my maid's performance is poor but I still keep her as a guard only.

By the way, I do not understand why you dare to employ a maid terminated by an employer.

I had a very bad experience too....
A yr ago, when my elder girl was 3 and also only 1 mth due to my second baby, had a maid claimed had to return home urgently and willing to pay me 1 mth salary; i was expecting a NB and a 3 yr-old girl, so I convinced her to stay and will give her 2 weeks off first; same afternoon, she called and said her husband was stable and ok in the hospital, no need to back home then.
Nightmare: 2 weeks later, she came back an hour late than on usual holiday and gave me resignation letter and 1 mth salary; when i paid her in cheques and tell her to come back after I issued her the air-tix; she called the police claimed I fooled her; then we found jewelleries missing (quite a lot, all belonged to my Mum-in-law) but police said nothing in her suitcase and not enough evidence....
2nd Nightmare: my agent arranged "an urgent case" for me, but in fact i waited for 2.5mths, was delayed and delayed and claimed she need to assured I can get an experienced maid to take care my NB....blah blah..blah... finally i got a "brand new" maid for no DH experience and of course no new born exp.

So who was there to help me out during I was stolen valuables by a maid and 貨不對辦?? while I paid all the taxes and levy???
