我01年 grad,轉眼做左六年野,八月開始做全職媽媽...

我覺得學歷高都唔會話嘥...一黎而家周街大學生,二黎我讀中文,又唔係做咩專業人士, 第日出黎搵番工, 我都係好老, 都應該唔會好難呱?

Hello all,

I am a U-grad FT mum with 4.5 yrs of post-grad working exp.. I quitted my job after the delivery of my first boy 6 yrs ago and my second boy is now 3 yrs old. :-P

I enjoyed being a FT mum in the past 6 yrs but now I am in the junction of being a FT mum forever or finding a job for "myself" not for my "family" as both of my boys will attend FT study after the summer. Can anyone share her experience at this point?

I tried to find a job in the past 6 months but no response from employers. I tried recruitment agencies also, but no feedback even after interviewed with prospective employers. I think the 6-year gap matters and also partly on my "obsoleted" interviewing skills.

If I still cannot find a job then, my husband will ask me to stay at home forever but this is not what I want at this moment. What can I do? :-(

Halo!
其實我都15/16緊,我收入好好,每日7:30pm前可返到home。而工人及我爸爸又好錫BB, 但因為BB到依家都未識 talking (almost 2 yrs old),加上睥氣好stubbun (我同hubby都覺得其中主要原因係工人及我爸爸太 ”種” BB), 而我又無即時嬌正佢。所以hubby ask me to resign, 但我又諗如果明年過完年resign, BB到時早上已經返N1 (9:00-12:00), 吃完午飯又要睡2-3 hours午覺, 等佢醒得來又要飲afternoon milk + 洗白白, 都已經差唔多6:00了(因BB吃東西超慢)。感覺好似多唔到幾多time親子wor? 我想問

Hi there,

I have been a full time housewife/mum for a year and have decided to go back to work.

Being a full time mum is more difficult that a part time mum.... What do you think?

Hi there,

I think it definitely worths to be a full time mom. The growth of first 5 years of a child is very important. I have been a full time mom for a year. At first, I did not enjoy it because I felt bored and was out of adult contacts. Now I enjoy so much because no one has more patient than me to teach my boy new things. It's so happy to see my boy growing every day. And it's the best job to train your EQ.

When I was little, my parents were busy with their work (no choice!!!). I often stayed home and played with myself. I missed them so much when they were not around. So I think if financial is not a problem, it's good to be full time mom.

Well, I think I will start look for a part time job coz I like to keep in touch with outside world. Besides, I can earn some extra $$$ for the family :D

Hi everybody,

I quited my job when I was few months pregnant & everyone thought it was a waste with my post grad. education background!!! To tell the truth, I missed my 前4後6 pay very very much gar, even today!.....but whatever.......I couldn't exchange the free time & pleasure I earned in return for anything else.

But I have to say that being a FT mom needs superb EQ (eventhough I had to work long hours/frequent trips in my old job)...which I didn't know what a high EQ I have until now & it's getting higher & higher

after I hired a maid.

Hi chan328,

I have the similar background as you are. My baby is now 2.5 months and I consider going back to work. Full time mum is too much for me....

I'm not sure if I'm not a good mum. I prefer working than being a full time mum. I love my baby very much but I do think I need to have my social life.

I resigned after I gave birth to my first daughter. After 6 mths FT mum, I felt staying home all day is really boring, cos everyday is the same. Then I hired a domestic helper.

I have a part time job now, and have a lot of time to play with my daughter, while my maid will do the housework and take care of my daughter's physically needs. Of course, the salary is not as much as before, but I have the double happiness than before.

My second son will be delivered on 1107, and my daughter will go to N1 on 0907. I will breast feed my coming son and watch them growing up.

Hi Ohmama,

What kind of part time job do you work? I think working part time is the best. You earn some $$$ and also have time for the family. I think I am gonna look for one after my house finish remodeling.

I was a teacher before. So I can be substitute teacher, go to school from 7:30-3:30. No need to have meeting and paper work anymore. I can go home at 4:00.

Moreover, I will teach student at home.

Hi...I'm new. I graduated from university in 2000. I've been a full-time mother for almost a year . My baby boy is going to be 1 year old. I think being a full-time mother is the toughest job I've ever had.
