Remember the ipa symbols are rather asbtract to remember even by grown-ups. I wonder........if posting them up is meaningful. Did handsome Mr Kwok advise so?

Mr. Kwok just said during kindergarten stage, learning phonics is still ok but primary students shall start with IPA la. Posting .... he didn't advise anything (indeed, I didn't ask him) but according to his teaching method as well as the one we are now using at home. I think it's ok but I just wonder whether I shall start to teach holman now or later jei

I c.. my view (speaking for myself) is that unless the child could use the dictionary, seem not interesting to teach them ipa. If you find an interesting + effective way, pls share with us la.

thanks for your advice. indeed, mr. kwok's son (6 years old) started to learn IPA when he was 5 and Mr. kwok said he knows all symbols by 3-month's time and now whenever he doesn't know the words, he will check with dictionary (either hardcopy or cd-roms).

Mr. Kwok introduced some "good" dictionary with cd-rom to us and we can check the correct sound from the cd them.

Yes, indeed not much symbols. But he can memorise all firmly within 3-month's time is a great job

Went to Country风 in CWB. Found lots of Usborne Farmtales. They seem to have three editions, at least.

Board book HK$25 @
Small paperback HK$25
Bigger paperback HK$35.

Need to check if bkpp's ones are the last type above. I don't like board book or small paperback.

My son finally took his trial lesson at Alice A yesterday la.

He drew a sun, some sea waves and birds.... Ms. Wong is quite nice ah.

May consider to join but time doesn't fit his schedule.

Cost $450/4 lesson, Poco member can get 15% discount for the 1st month.

so Kevin likes it. I saw a bigger kid draw a tiger on his own. Quite nice!

My son drew some flowers and grass today.

Kevin had the same trial painting as my bee did.

We do not get good seats but three different priced tickets (believed to be the few tickets left when I posted the info out here) near to one another. I hope I can hold bee on my lap la. Don't think bee could sit on his own la. I did not want to miss this one and thus accepting the not very good seating arrangements.

btw, ms wong said that she prefers pupils who could be 坐定定. See if Holman can sit there and follow instruction for 1 hour. She also teaches Chinese calligraphy, oil painting and 素描...etc. Part of the reasons to join her is that yxcx course do not admit as young as 3 yrs old for Chinese painting. So, I start from AArts this year and will return to kln side when bee is older.

Her youngest pupil is slightly below 3 yrs old. Most range from 5-12 yrs old.
