問工人, 工人話佢尋日成日都無乜索過鼻, 係出街買送時索過, 同埋扭計喊完之後先索................................

我都吾知係吾係真係向好, 但我尋晚真係無聽過佢索鼻, 工人話佢半夜無咳, 但老公話聽到個仔咳, 工人同阿仔一間房都聽吾到, 佢聽到wor, 可能佢係醒訓的人

佢成日話我同工人訓覺似豬, 行雷都吾醒

各位，請問哮喘病發及食藥期間，小朋友係咪會冇胃口o架？今日我個大仔唔肯食野連奶都唔肯飲。期實可以食d咩可以付到佢既病情唔惡化呢？我好驚會比錯野佢食，加重佢既病情啊！

Asthma should have no effects on appetite! Mine was eating like a pig even when he was in hospital.

You should avoid cold things and probably seafood for now. Dairy products and citrus fruit might trigger asthma too. Spicy food of course is a no no too.

Avoid using carpet, rugs or upholstry furniture at home. We don't have any curtains for a year now! And vaccum your house thoroughly.

When he is not wheezing, get him to do mild exercise. Sunlight is good too. Get him learn swimming next year.

My girl has stopped drinking milk for a year and right now since she is on summer vacation, I tried to let her take the milk again as breakfast, after a week time, she started to cough for an hour (night time). Last Saturday, she has coughed from morning till night and have fever of 100 deg. cel. The doctor said that her 氣管收縮 (early stage of asthma), he prescribed Ventolin and Zytrec for my girl. After taking 2 times, my girl stop coughing, but bear in mind Ventolin should be stopped once the kid has no difficulties in breathing. Also, the doctor told me that they may have stomache because their diaphram contracts. Also, Zytrec may have the side effects of headache & stomache which my girls have got it yesterday and I have stopped to let her take it.

Hi Arlene,

Actually, my girl stopped to take milk powder at 3 years old. This time, I'm using the dairy milk to cook with cereal oats as breakfast for her. Actually, she drank it before, however, she used to have cough and eventually I stopped and just cooked cereal oats when she needed to go to school. She has not got any cough for over 2-3 months since I have let her drink the crocodile meat soup twice a week. I'm thinking that right now is summer holidays, so I tried again last Monday until Friday, Monday night just a few cough for half an hour, Tuesday the same and Wednesday coughed for 1 hour and Thursday even worser almost 2 hours.

我個仔由細到大都無鼻敏感架, 係新年帶佢返完大陸玩, 感冒, 可能個底清得吾好, 變左鼻敏感, 我同佢看過專科, 都話係甘架啦, 一發作, 就好難斷尾

因為我個女上年summer試過三伏天, 哮喘touch wood好左, 所以今年我帶埋個仔去貼之麻, 依家叫吾叫有好轉都吾知, 因為佢今晚又索返鼻, 但就無以前索得甘用力law.............

我仔仔都有鼻敏感, 氣官敏感, 平時一到夜晚就成日索過鼻, 之前病左成 2 個幾月, 咩中西醫都睇唔好, 醫生話仔仔有初期哮喘, 咩湯水呀都試過晒都係唔好, 日日咳到成日阿伯甘, 好似有 d 透唔到氣甘, 睇到仔仔甘都好辛苦, 後來有人介紹用左一隻叫 ~ 溫肺散既中藥藥粉, 用左一個禮拜, 仔仔終於好番喇 ! 唔知妳地有冇試過用.

Your son is not the youngest here. My little girl is only 10 months old now and she was diagnosed with asthma already! :-( I think the doc made that diagnosis also base on the fact that I had asthma when I was a kid.

So my first hand personal experience can confirm how your son felt when he had that asthma attack: the chest is painful, as if a rock is placed on it. No appetite (I think illness always decreases our appetite). Difficult to go to sleep because of difficulty in breathing - so it may help if sitting on the sofa to go to sleep instead of staying on bed.

u are lucky that your doctor caught it that same night when he had that attack. As Arlene said, we just have to be an alert mom 24/7. Good luck!

All,

BK is very slow with the US system, so I am just following your discussion here now and then. However, I notice that many of u talk about “milk” and “coughing/ asthma”. What do u think is the relationship?

Also, can anyone post a very simple menu of how to prepare the “crocodile meat” soup? I will go to Chinatown this weekend to see if any of the shops there sell dried crocodile meat. Seems to be a good soup for everybody.

Do u notice any side effect for using Pulmicort with your son for that last year? Although I really don’t want to, we may still end up accepting doc’s suggestion on putting our girl on the preventive medicine.
